It’s SNOW-ing Heroes ⋅ A Peek at the Brookhollow Series

The weather outside maybe frightful (at least in NYC) but Rather Be Reading is ever so delightful as contemporary romance writer Jennifer Snow stops by to crank the temperature up a notch with a spotlight of two of her heroes. I had a great time reading one of the books in the Brookhollow series over the […]

Meg - These sound like fun! Though country singer vs. firefighter is a tough match-up, I’d have to go with the country singer. Who can resist the allure of a man crooning you a tender love song?

Rachel (Confessions of a Book Geek) - The firefighter one definitely got my attention – mostly because the protagonist’s age is more close to my own. Not sure how I’d feel reading about a country music star, but the firefighter? No problemo. Plus, I love best friends to lovers stories! R x

What If You Could | #Tuck40th

Happy 40th anniversary to Natalie Babbitt and the brilliant Tuck Everlasting! I can still remember the impact this book had on my 6th grade class when we read it for the first time. Alexa S. - “I want to live quality days, every day. I want to remember to appreciate the special moments. And most importantly, I wouldn’t have to live a life where I had to be any less open, or less likely to connect with others because of a secret circumstances like everlasting life.” – This is such a beautiful way of putting this sentiment, E. Love, love, LOVE it. And I feel the same way!

January 30, 2015 - 2:33 pm

Cassie (Happy Book Lovers) - I ADORE this book, and it’ll always be one of my favorites! I almost went to the signing but my train got stuck, and I ended up missing it! But I totally agree with your answers. It’d be cool to see stuff, but I’m okay having an ending to my life. 🙂

Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook - I’ve never read anything by Linda Lael Miller but I am curious. I should definitely look into this one. I love when a lot of focus on strong female friendships. That’s the best. And as someone who talks to herself a lot, I think I would love that aspect, too. 🙂

My new years resolution, which is completely cliche but whatever, is to lose weight and get back in shape. I gained an embarrassingly amount of weight in the past three months. Time to lose it and get toned!

January 4, 2015 - 10:53 pm

Carmel - My New Year’s Resolution is to be brave. I still have a lot apprehensions in general. Hopefully I could just let things be and just trust in the magic of new beginnings. Thank you for the giveaway!

Jaime Lester - One of my resolutions is to start eating healthier, and drinking more water, less Dr. Pepper!!! UGH!I am not looking forward to it, but it must be done. I work out all of the time, now I just need to get the eating part down!

Asheley (@BookwormAsheley) - MAGAN! I have to admit that I haven’t paid much attention to this book because it seems to me that so many people are reading it right now, at the same time, but your words are BRILLIANT and make me want my hands on it NOW. I love that I can tell how much you love it and WOW, I just want to read it NOW. That is why I love reading friends with enthusiasm. Happy New Year friend and thanks so much for this recommendation! xo

Alexa S. - Totally think the sister aspect of For Real is really interesting! Like you, reading about Claire and how she felt about Miranda or in relation to Miranda made me wonder if my sisters have ever felt that way about me. Other than that, For Real was a totally fun read!

December 9, 2014 - 4:03 am

Rebecca @ Reading Wishes - Great review and I loved hearing from the author, too! Especially her answer to the last question. For Real sounds great and after reading another positive review, I definitely think I’ll be giving it a go. Also, love the idea of Review & Chat 🙂
