Estelle’s Shelve It from 4/20/2013

weekly feature to share the books magan and estelle are adding to their bookshelves each week

Yes. You read that right! There’s actually a Shelve It + IT’S A V-LOG. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you! Sorry about the lack of these lately but between my Lent “break” from buying books, the eBooks I’ve been purchasing (which are no fun to show to you in a video), and this silly cold that will not go away — I haven’t had a chance. But here I am!!

I do cough in this video (sorry to ruin the suspense for you), and I’m going to apologize for the 20th time about that. Also, I totally blanked on the word “companion”. See if you can find that spot. I will send you a cookie.

(I should also mention a huge thanks to Ginger for providing my necklace in this video! It’s been such a great accessory and goes with so much that I own!)

Thank you so much to Harlequin Teen for the lovely goodies!

The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa (May 2013)
Dare You To by Katie McGarry (June 2013)
Ink by Amanda Sun (July 2013)
Heartbeat by Elizabeth Scott (September 2013)

Again, I love how eclectic this combination of books is! It makes me SO excited about reading and creative people!

From Scholastic:

A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty (review from Jamie at Perpetual Page Turner)

The Thinking Fan’s Guide to Walt Disney World: Magic Kingdom by Aaron Wallace

On the blog this week:

BEApart of It: Spirits + Caffeine (helping you plan your NYC adventure!)
Magan’s review of manicpixiedreamgirl by Tom Leveen (I just finished this + LOVED it.)
The Symptoms of My Insanity by Mandy Ref, a review from Magan
My look at Riptide by Lindsey Schreibe
Where I say all the fantastic things about Criminal by Terra Elan McVoy
Art Girls Are Easy by Julie Klausner, a review from Magan

So tell me… should I read The Eternity Cure? And what are YOU reading?

Thanks for stopping in + checking out this week’s Shelve It, friends! Hope your weekend is awesome so far. xo

Magan: Shelve It — April 7, 2013

weekly feature to share the books magan and estelle are adding to their bookshelves each weekHey, hey friends! Happy Sunday! Thanks for stopping by for today’s Shelve It! It’s been a while since I’ve splurged on books. Have you seen all the amazing deals for the kindle and nook? Holy moly — so many good books are half off or cheaper right now. Take advantage of this, guys! Estelle and I definitely have.

Since all my books are for my kindle, no vlog for this Shelve It. I’m pretty sure that would be boring with nothing to physically show you. (Right?)

Books Purchased for my Kindle:

kindle book cheap purchases

Just for Now by Abbi Glines — $0.99 — (Goodreads | Amazon)
Being Friends With Boys by Terra Elan McVoy — $2.99 — (Goodreads | Amazon | Estelle’s Review)
Going Bovine by Libba Bray — $3.99 — (Goodreads | Amazon)

(I believe the Amazon sales last through the end of April. The 50% off sale at Barnes and Noble only lasts through this weekend. Please note that I think Amazon has decided to match the prices on the B&N sales.)

Once Was Lost Renamed to What We Lost

I also purchased What We Lost by Sara Zarr. (Goodreads | Amazon) It was originally titled Once Was Lost, but it received a shiny new cover and a new title. What are your thoughts? I love both covers, actually, but do admit the new one is a bit more eye-catching. This is my only Zarr book left to read, guys. Ahhh!

Estelle’s Shelve It >> March 17, 2013

weekly feature to share the books magan and estelle are adding to their bookshelves each week

Happy Sunday friends! It’s St. Patrick’s Day… have you had green beer today? We aren’t much for celebrating the holiday but that’s okay… it’s been a nice productive weekend and I’m enjoying a River Horse American Amber Ale instead of something green.

It’s been kind of a slow week in the book collecting world for me. If you remember, I’ve taken an oath not to buy books until the end of the month. But I’m thinking it might continue a little bit past that because I’ve been eyeing my bookshelves and the new / unread book pile is still a bit too overwhelming.

But the good news is… I’m going on a trip next week and have already thrown my trusty books into a bag and I will hopefully make a small dent in that very scary pile of books I have spent money on but forgotten about. In other exciting news, … the New York Teen Author Festival kicks off tomorrow (March 18) and I’m psyched! If any of you are there, please say hi!

Anyway, there were still some very nice goodies in my mailbox this week:

Estelle Shelve It March 17 2013

Anna from Anna Reads sent me her copy of The Trouble with Flirting by Claire LaZebrik!

And Quinn from Quinn’s Book Nook surprised me with this cute notebook, bookmark, and four-leaf clover kit to say thanks for me sending her a book. How sweet was that? I am IN LOVE with this notebook.

Thanks Quinn + Anna!

In case you missed it, here’s what happened at RBR in the past few days:

Attention, Attention: Audrey, Wait!
A review of First Comes Love by Katie Kacvinsky
A review of The Ruby Oliver Series by E. Lockhart
A PMS Survival Kit from Magan
A review of This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith

Reading anything awesome? Please share! Thanks for stopping in this week!

weekly feature to share the books magan and estelle are adding to their bookshelves each week

Hi friends! We’re here together this week (but not really together, sigh) for Shelve It, sharing some of the latest books that have popped up at our post office or in our inboxes. It’s kind of a quiet week since Estelle is still on her “book buying ban” so we thought this was the best way to share what we are going to be reading in the near (very near) future!

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend and reading something amazing!

We’ve all fallen in love with Snarkles of Epic Reads so I thought you might enjoy seeing these. I collect measuring cups and bowls so as a thank you, this amazing bride of mine (shout out to Betty!) gifted me these. Love, love, love them! (You can find the Measuring Hedgies here.)
