Young Adult Book Blog: If I Lie by Corrine Jackson - […] mentioned in my Shelve It vlog on Sunday that I was recently in a deep book slump because I was having a really difficult time […]

November 6, 2013 - 5:14 pm

November 4, 2013 - 5:51 pm

Alexa Y. - Hooray for two years of RBR! I’m so happy that blogging brought us together, as my life would be so less awesome without you both. <3

November 3, 2013 - 11:17 pm

Lisa Schensted - TWO YEARS! YIPEE!
I’m totes on that twitter chat, too! See ya there, homies.

November 3, 2013 - 7:23 pm

Paige - I bought myself a copy of Allegiant a week or two ago and I’m dying to read it! But I’m afraid to because I don’t want the trilogy to end. Good luck with everything Magan! And I hope you both enjoy everything!

November 3, 2013 - 2:22 pm

Liz (Along for the Read) - Estelle- I hate covers with faces, which is the sole reason that I have not yet purchased or read Just One Year yet. I’m going to hold out for the library copy, and hope that the paperback matches Just One Day (because I also really like that paperback cover)

Magan- I hope everything turns out well with your foster daughter, that must be a roller coaster of emotions, but it is so amazing that you have been able to experience all of that. I’ll be sending good thoughts your way.

I am so looking forward to the RBR chat on Tuesday! Can’t wait to talk to you both!

November 3, 2013 - 1:50 pm

Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook - Aww, Magan. I hope things go as well as they can with your family. I really liked The Distance Between Us, too. It’s a light sweet read – maybe something you might need right now. I also need to stop buying, and then not reading my books.

Estelle – Prom & Prejudice is super cute. I don’t love all of Elizabeth Eulberg’s books, but that one is at the top of my list. I also really like The Lonely Heart’s Club. When I have a down day, I like to head to the book store, too.

I’m writing myself a reminder right now for your Twitter Chat. Congrats on two years of blogging!

Nailed It: Upcoming July Releases

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by the blog for another Nailed It! We’ve decided to mix things up a bit and introduce you nail-polish lovers to another brand we really adore, Zoya. Their color selection is fantastic and the polish is long-lasting. We’ve actually texted one another before that the polish was holding up so well, […]

Nailed It: August 2013 Book Releases + Pretty Colors! - […] Last month, we changed things up and used Zoya colors to make some book cover palettes. We gave one of our colors away, and Jennifer won and picked an awesome red called Diana! She sent us a picture of her gorgeous manicure! […]

July 15, 2013 - 9:00 am

YA Review: The Distance Between Us by Kasie West - […] Add to Goodreads | Buy on Amazon | Nailed IT featuring TDBU […]

July 7, 2013 - 10:27 pm

Jennifer Dysart - Loving Gretchen, it’s so wearable for any occasion!

July 7, 2013 - 6:35 pm

Candice @ The Grown-Up YA - LOVE the Gretchen color! All three colors for The Distance Between Us (one of the books I’m DYING to read) are beautiful, but that one just seems like a great neutral color for year round!

July 7, 2013 - 6:08 pm

Joli @ Actin' Up with Books - Oooh, I would love Trixie.

July 6, 2013 - 7:34 pm

Ashley @ Ashley Loves Books - I’m drawn towards Diana, but more than 50% of my polish collection are reds! (And I have a large polish collection, trust me haha) I don’t actually wear orange, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE wearing it on my nails so I love Ginger! Trixie is on my wishlist for the Halloween months, somehow I think it would fit super well during then.

July 5, 2013 - 11:30 pm

Dee'z Dazzling Designs - All the colors are beautiful but I’d have to say Ginger is my favorite.

July 5, 2013 - 8:49 pm

Rebecca @ Reading Wishes - I already commented but forgot to say while I love them all, Trixie and Stella are my favourites 😉

July 5, 2013 - 10:42 am

Cecelia - It’s close between Trixie and Gretchen (they’re very different!), but I think Trixie wins today. I’m feeling sparkly.

July 2, 2013 - 9:33 pm

Angela - Am very interested in either Trixie or Raven, lol. I just got into nail polish and love that there is such a big community with so much creativity going on!! Am slowly building my collection 😀 So many colors, brands and the perfect accent choice!

July 2, 2013 - 5:17 pm

Daphne - i like raven the best and i really wanna read both those books :)

July 2, 2013 - 3:00 pm

Rachel - Great pairings once again. Looooveeee the ones for The Distance Between Us. In general, I LOVE Trixie. I love flashy nail polishes because I think they look great with black and I wear LOTS of black in the winter. And the summer. Silver is just totally my thing. I also like Ginger, but I probably wouldn’t ever wear it because orange and I don’t mix. It’s pretty to look at, though!

July 2, 2013 - 1:56 pm

Claira - I’m loving Gretchen and Diana!

July 2, 2013 - 11:35 am

Gina - Trixie is TO DIE FOR! I hope I win! 😀

July 2, 2013 - 11:32 am

Juliana - I love Diana!

July 2, 2013 - 10:13 am

Courtney @ The Lit Girl - I love the three colors for Truly Madly Deeply! Beautiful picks!

July 1, 2013 - 5:35 pm

Dash - I love the reds Diana or Stella.

July 1, 2013 - 3:19 pm

Tammy - I always love a great basic nude.

July 1, 2013 - 2:04 pm

Summer - I only noticed afterwards that this was for U.S. only, so please ignore my entry.

July 1, 2013 - 1:47 pm

Summer - I so love the idea of matching your nails with the book you’re reading, super cute and creative. I’ve been very into oranges and corals, and anything in that range lately so I think Ginger would be my favorite.

July 1, 2013 - 1:36 pm

elena - Love these covers and colors!! I hope my library gets The Distance Between Us and now I’m inspired to paint my nails. :)

July 1, 2013 - 11:37 am

Judith - How have I never seen this feature before?! I loooove it! I buy way too much nailpolish, so I adore everything that has to do with that. Both of these combinations are so pretty, though the second one is definitely more for me. Love the fierce colors! I’ll be looking forward to more of these posts (and probably scrolling back through others :).

July 1, 2013 - 10:54 am

Alexa Y. - Am I allowed to say that I love all these colors a whole lot? They’re basically all the colors I would ever want to put on my nails lol. But let’s see, my favorites are GINGER and TRIXIE. What can I say – I’m a sucker for shiny things!

July 1, 2013 - 10:36 am

Tara - I love ALL of those colors! I think my fave might be Diana–it’s just very summery and pretty. Thanks for including my review of TMD :)

July 1, 2013 - 6:22 am

Ashton - I really want all of the nail polishes and books. I especially like Gretchen. It’s a nice color for everyday.

July 1, 2013 - 2:11 am

DannyBookworm - What a super duper cute idea!°!! Love this and the polishes look so awesome and pretty :)

July 1, 2013 - 2:00 am

Rebecca @ Reading Wishes - Looking forward to both of theses releases, especially TDBU since I read Pivot Point last week and loved it! I love these polishes and thought I have the bad habit of biting my nails, it’s something I want to work on because I do LOVE to paint my nails and yes to a vegan nail polish, woot! I’m not vegan but I”m vegetarian and I only like to buy cruelty free products so I’d love to try Zoya. Amazing post, guys!

July 1, 2013 - 12:17 am

Bookworm1858 - Great picks-I love seeing what covers you choose and what colors to represent them. My favorite is Diana!

June 30, 2013 - 10:25 pm

Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life - Gah, I seriously LOVE these posts!! I love love love both match ups. The color Trixie is SO pretty, it’s like metallic! Ginger also looks a bit metallic, which is just gorgeous. And Stella is such a pretty color all around. <3

Awesome, thanks for sharing, you two!!

June 30, 2013 - 8:55 pm

tabithasbookblog - I love that you guys are nail polish fanatics as well!! My collection is getting out of hand, but there are just So many colors to try! And brands, and shades of colors, and different finishes. AH. I really like nail polish.

Anyways – I think I’d choose either Gretchen or Trixie – I like my nail polish to stand out because I wear mostly neutrals.

And now – i’ve given you my life story. Thanks for the giveaway!

Magan: Shelve It — April 7, 2013

Hey, hey friends! Happy Sunday! Thanks for stopping by for today’s Shelve It! It’s been a while since I’ve splurged on books. Have you seen all the amazing deals for the kindle and nook? Holy moly — so many good books are half off or cheaper right now. Take advantage of this, guys! Estelle and […]

VeganYANerds - Ooh, I hope Going Bovine is good, I have liked the last couple of Libba’s books that I’ve read!

And I too like both covers of Once Was Lost, I own the original – I hope you like it 😀

April 10, 2013 - 6:02 pm

Paige - I read Being Friends With Boys not long ago and I enjoyed it a lot, I know she has another book out I’m hoping to read that soon :) I hope you enjoy everything you got this week.

April 8, 2013 - 6:09 pm

Leah @ The Pretty Good Gatsby - You know what, I actually really like the redesign! I’m usually pretty indifferent toward them (at best), but this one is simply lovely. I think it’s the font that does it for me.

HA! Thank you for reminding me that I really need to write my review for You Look Different.. I read it last month and while it definitely wasn’t bad, it was pretty bland and not very memorable. It made for an enjoyable afternoon read though. Hopefully you’ll like it a bit more than I did!

While I absolutely adore my local library, I’m WEEPING over their complete lack of Jennifer Echols! NOT A SINGLE BOOK. I’ve only heard the highest of praises in regards to her book and now it’s looking as though I’m going to have to dive in & buy them. I need to find out what I’m missing!

April 8, 2013 - 10:51 am

Dana - Awesome haul. I won’t be buying anything for a while because my review backlog is insane but I’ll be adding to my Goodreads TBR list for sure! Hope you enjoy all your books!

April 8, 2013 - 8:50 am

Ginger @ GReads! - I’ve tried to read Abbi Glines and just couldn’t do it. I’ll be curious if you feel the same or end up liking her stuff. Yay Sara Zarr! I know how much you love her :)

April 8, 2013 - 1:37 am

Alexa Y. - I stopped myself after I bought three books off the Amazon sale (although I’m fairly certain I’m buying more soon). I got Being Friends with Boys as well, yay!

April 7, 2013 - 10:38 pm

Bookworm1858 - Awesome haul-I am looking forward to reading most of these too especially You Look Different in Real Life. Not sure about the redesign for Once Was Lost as I really liked the original.

April 7, 2013 - 9:43 pm

Amanda @ MarvelousCatoReviews - I actually bought Going Bovine recently, as well! I have been dying to read it, so I’m excited to finally have it in my collection.

April 7, 2013 - 4:30 pm

Laura @ the Booksmartie - Oh, I love all These contemporaries here – haven’t read one in a while :) Also, I like both covers for Sarah Zarr’s books, but I prefer the orig!inal title…it was more Special, I think

April 7, 2013 - 1:21 pm

Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads - Awwww, but it’s always lovely to see your pretty face in your vlog, books or no books :)

Magan’s Shelve It for March 10, 2013

Oh, hello there. It’s been a while since I did a vlog for Shelve It. My weekends have been disgustingly busy since January, but here I am — enjoying a nice, quiet, rainy Saturday at home. (Hooray!!!) I just finished up one of the books I bought this week (Sean Griswold’s Head) last night so […]

Lena @ Addicted 2 Novels - I have REQUIEM, too! TWINSIES!!!

Amazon needs to deliver my copy of THINGS I CAN’T FORGET already before I completely lose it. AHHHH! AHHHH!!!!

Anywho, let me know what you think of them!

March 11, 2013 - 12:35 pm

Alexa Y. - M! I love your lipstick, and you look so pretty :) Nice to see you back on video.

Sounds like you’ve gotten a great selection of books this week. I’m especially curious about The Academy, as it sounds like something I’d enjoy. I’m loving these sports-centered books (which also reminds me that I need to read Miranda’s books!).

March 10, 2013 - 11:35 pm

Lisa the Nerd - Hello, beautiful! Yay for the vlog! I do need to read Sean Griswold’s Head too. I like your cover MUCH better than the hardcover…that helps it bump up my TBR too! :)

March 10, 2013 - 6:01 pm

Magan - Aneeqah — you’re so sweet! Thanks, lady! It is so windy at our house too! CRAZY windy. We tried to go for a run this afternoon and I felt like I was having to work twice as hard. Needless to say, it was more of a run/walk! 😉 You definitely do need to read a Miranda Kenneally book. They’re all fantastic. Read them in order because the characters make appearances and they all take place in the same town. I’m so glad you’re nervous about Requiem too. Thanks for your comment! Have a great spring break!

March 10, 2013 - 5:58 pm

Magan - Margie — you don’t know how much your comment made me excited. I was wondering if there was even the slightest chance I’d feel excited. I almost feel like I knew that maybe the ending wouldn’t be super happy or perfect, but I almost expect that. Lauren is a brilliant author so I don’t want/expect her to take the easy way out by tying everything up perfectly. Does that even make sense? haha

March 10, 2013 - 5:57 pm

Magan - Oh, G. You’re so right. I should have included a song. I’m playing his CD right now if that counts? 😉

March 10, 2013 - 5:56 pm

Magan - Bookworm — I wish I had spring break too. Oh to be back in college again! :( I will be writing my review for SGH shortly. I loved it so much! So glad you did too!

March 10, 2013 - 5:56 pm

Magan - Jen — The Academy: Game On doesn’t have a cover on Netgalley so maybe it hasn’t stood out? I am so glad you’re going to request it! I’m glad you’re feeling the same way about Requiem. Seems so iffy. AHHH. And yes, SGH was so, so good. Glad you loved it too!

March 10, 2013 - 5:54 pm

Magan - Mandee, somehow I had never heard of Sean Griswold’s Head — I don’t see it around on the blogosphere very much. It’s a few years old so maybe that’s why, but wow — so good! Hope you had a lovely weekend!

March 10, 2013 - 3:04 pm

Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life - Magan, your v-logs are always so great to watch!! It was nice and stormy here last night as well, and now it’s just plain windy! So it’s definitely a great time to cuddle up with a book. And thank GOODNESS that I’m finally on spring break, and you’re totally right, I don’t even know what I’m going to do with my life without homework, haha. 😉

But anyways, I really need to pick up a Miranda Kenneally book, especially because you’ve read all but this one! And I’m totally on the same boat as you for Requiem- I want to read it so badly, yet I don’t want to either. I’m scared that it’s going to disappoint such a great series for me.

Anyways, lovely haul, Magan! Enjoy your books and have a fantastic, relaxing weekend. <3

March 10, 2013 - 2:07 pm

Margie aka The Bumble Girl - Great books, Magan! I really loved REQUIEM! Not at first, but the more I read, the more I was liking it all! And the end, which seems to be everyone’s issues, lol, I loved and can live with it! In fact, I want to rip the last page out and frame it… might have to do that to a paperback (eeep!)
Enjoy your new reads! xo

March 10, 2013 - 1:22 pm

Ginger @ GReads! - The only thing missing from this vlog… PHILLIP PHILLIPS hahaha. Seriously. He would have been a great soundtrack 😉

March 10, 2013 - 10:21 am

Bookworm1858 - Oh how I wish I had a spring break-I would love to spend a lot more time reading! Alas the workweek calls to me :( Looking forward to your review of Sean Griswold’s Head-it’s one of my favorite books.

March 10, 2013 - 8:58 am

Jen - Oooooh! Game On looks adorable. Why haven’t I seen this on NetGalley? I will definitely go and request like, immediately. And YAY, Requiem, though I am petrified by everyone’s lukewarm reviews. I still have to read Pandemonium, so I think I’m going to be binging on this series some weekend in the near future! And YAY, Sean Griswold’s Head. FANTASTIC book.

March 10, 2013 - 3:24 am

VeganYANerds - Sean Griswold’s Head sounds so good, I’m sure I’ve heard of it before but I must have forgotten about it. Love that you stayed up reading it & I am a fan of heavy/sad books.

I’m looking forward to Requiem, but I’m not jumping up and down for it. I hope it doesn’t let you down!

Enjoy your weekend off xox

Magan: Shelve it, December 2, 2012

Hey friends! It’s so, so hard for me to believe that it’s December. It’s 77 degrees in Austin right now. WHY OH WHY? I need cold weather and hot chocolate to get into the holiday spirit! I’ve been playing my fair share of the ‘N Sync holiday station on Pandora to balance out the warmer […]

Alexa Y. - I just got The Sea of Tranquility, and I’m looking forward to checking it out. So many bloggers I love really enjoyed it, so I hope you and I do too!

December 4, 2012 - 7:06 am

April Books & Wine - Ohhh! The Sea Of Tranquility is utterly fantastic and heart breaking and wonderful and good and I wish I had a physical copy of it hahaha.

Hope you dig Hooked!

December 3, 2012 - 10:28 pm

Lisa [is busy nerding] - I’ve heard such good things about Sea. From the same peeps, of course. I hope you love it!

December 3, 2012 - 3:59 pm

Cassie - YAY! I adored If I Lie, I have it on my nook. I saw Hooked on NetGalley and was contemplating it, let me know what you think!

December 3, 2012 - 10:52 am

Brittany @ The Book Addict's Guide - Yes!!!! Go read The Sea of Tranquility, like, now!!! It was so amazing. You won’t be disappointed (I surely hope not!)

December 2, 2012 - 8:00 pm

Ashley @ Ashley Loves Books - I saw the conversation between Anna and Jen on Twitter about the Sea of Tranquility – and after I saw it here AND on Tara’s (hobbitsies) IMM, I definitely just went and found it on NG haha. It sounds so good, I couldn’t pass it up!

I am DYING to read If I Lie – I have a hc copy from Corrine, but I’m saving it for when I can be emotionally wrecked haha. i can’t wait to read your thoughts on it!

Magan: Shelve It — October 07, 2012

Hi friends! I am sorry Shelve It is late today. No vlog this week because a) I was good and didn’t purchase any books, b) I have to return all of my library books tomorrow, and c) none received from publishers. I’m currently trying to crank through a library book before I have to relinquish […]

VeganYANerds - So now I have to go see it! I really was hoping it would turn out to be great and thanks for the warning, I will take heaps of tissues!

And it looks like I have some reviews to catch up on, will go and read them now!

October 8, 2012 - 3:36 pm

Melissa - So glad that you enjoyed Perks of a Wallflower! It does sound like an amazing movie! And good for you…not giving in and buying anything this week!

October 8, 2012 - 2:00 pm

Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads - I’m glad to hear that Perks is a good movie! I want to see it too, but hubby insists on reading the book first, which will likely mean that we wait until it’s out on DVD =P
