Estelle: In My Mailbox (2/19/2012)

Happy Sunday, friends! I can’t believe it’s already been 2 weeks since my last v-log. Craziness! I hope all of you had a great week, and for those of you enjoying an extended weekend because of President’s Day, are relaxing and curling up with a good book (or 3). Because I’m traveling a lot this weekend, I actually taped my IMM a little early.

Truth: I’m sort of on a book buying ban right now. The last few months I’ve been on a clothing shopping freeze. (Still am, kind of.) And this month I really have to institute the no buying of books. I went a little bonkers the end of last year buying books at a rapid rate and now I just have too many to handle. Not to mention all the lovely ARCs we received when Magan when to ALA. So I have to focus on what I have before I buy more. Even though, I so want to. But that being said, here is my vlog from this week’s IMM, a weekly meme hosted by the talented Kristi aka The Story Siren.

ALA Reads mentioned:

Various Positions by Martha Schabas: Released 2/14/12 (Goodreads | Amazon)
Curveball: The Year I Lost My Grip by Jordan Sonnenblick: Releases 3/1/12 (Goodreads | Amazon)
The Difference Between You & Me by Madeline George: Releases 3/15/12 (Goodreads | Amazon)
The Stalker Chronicles by Carley Moore: Releases 3/27/12 (Goodreads | Amazon)

Book read this week:

Tessa Masterson WILL Go to Prom by Brandon Halpin & Emily Franklin: Releases 2/27/12 (Goodreads | Amazon)

On the blog this week…

> Estelle: The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith
> Magan: The Survival Kit by Donna Freitas
> Estelle: The Scent of Rain & Lightning by Nancy Pickard

And that’s all she wrote! Catch you guys tomorrow!

Thanks April! I just finished VP. And there is a lot to like about it. I don’t want to say too much. But I think you should give it a try. If that’s a good clue 🙂 Happy reading & have a great week!

    1. Interested to see what you think of Various Positions. It..err..rubbed me the wrong way. But can’t wait to see what you think!

    2. Em and I skype atleast once a week! It’s really fun and helps us talk and plan for the blog. 🙂

    3. Jealous that you have Monday off! (because we don’t!)

    4. I started The Stalker Chronicles but wasn’t in the mood for Contemp so had to put it down for a little while.

    5. Em and I love you guys!! Hope you have a fabulous week and yay for books!

    xoxo -S

Sash, I just finished VP last night! I have a lot of thoughts too. I hope I can get my review up soon. It’s not what I thought at all. Thanks so much for all the kind words. Magan and I love your blog so much and the two of you. Hope your week moves quickly!

Great vlog, Estelle! I am trying to put myself on a book-buying ban as well, I have plenty of great YA avail. at my local libraries and I have a bunch of books I’ve purchased but haven’t read yet!

I know what you mean about the over flowing pile of books. After ALA I feel so completely guilty even considering buying a book. Yet, I still went to B&N last week. Oops! haha I’m anxious to read your review for The Difference Between You and Me.

Ginger, thanks for your comment! I’m so happy to have the ALA books and I think in some way, my wallet is super happy about it. I do have some gift cards actually to B&N *but* I keep forgetting them. Note to self: put them in wallet. haha. Did you read Difference yet? I should be on that one soon. Have a great week!

I will totally support your book buying ban, simply because I’m on one too! I’ve been good so far (although I make exceptions for book signings), so hopefully, I keep that up and definitely whittle down my TBR.

In other news, I will (hopefully) see you this week? Possibly in Barnes and Noble during my lunch break 😉

I hope you like Various Positions. It wasn’t a bad read; on the contrary, it was an interesting one. I just felt very “WHAT THE HECK” while I was reading it.

The other books you mentioned all sound really good. Must go and check them out now!

Yours and Magan’s recent vlogs are what gave me the courage to post my first one this week! You seem so comfortable. Haha. I had to record mine twice. Hopefully I’ll get used to it. 😛 It’s always nice to see you!

Very cool that Magan sent you some goodies! I’d be overwhelmed if I had all those books to read at once! They sound good, and I’m excited for your reviews of them all!
