Estelle: In My Mailbox (2/5/12)

Good evening everyone! I hope all of you have your eyes glued to the TV as the Super Bowl plays. No? Don’t worry. Me neither. I plan on being productive tonight… hopefully. So far my husband has managed not to scream… that much. (He’s a Giants fan.) Anyway, no more football talk. Instead, I made my second In My Mailbox video tonight. Hope you guys like it. I think I was a lot less nervous this time! So things can only look up from here. (Don’t forget to check out the In My Mailbox by Kristi aka The Story Siren.)

Books I mentioned this week:

Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Whitaker (Amazon | Goodreads)

Look! I Made a Hat by Stephen Sondheim (Amazon | Goodreads)
Ramona series by Beverly Clearly (Amazon | Goodreads)
Freckle Juice by Judy Blume (Amazon | Goodreads)

Book swap:
Raw Blue by Kirsty Eagar (Thanks to Mands from Vegan YA Nerds!)

From the library:
A Little Friendly Advice by Siobhan Vivian (Amazon | Goodreads)
The Survival Kit by Donna Freitas (Amazon | Goodreads)
The Leftovers by Tom Perrota (Amazon | Goodreads)
The Probability of Miracles by Wendy Wunder (Amazon | Goodreads)
The Comeback Season by Jennifer E. Smith (Amazon | Goodreads)
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green (Amazon | Goodreads)

A few other things:

  • Ginger’s great review of The Survival Kit from this week.
  • Magan was also featured on Ginger’s blog this week, and it was an awesome interview.
  • I must plug my very good friend Jeff too; he’s the one who gifted me the Sondheim book and he’s been a great supporter of RBR. If you are a Disney fan, take a minute to check out his latest venture: Communicore Weekly. It’s an awesome & creative Disney weekly vlog.

Estelle - Mandee, thanks so much again for sending along Raw Blue! I can’t wait to get started on it! And yes, Magan has amazing taste. You should see the other stuff she picked out for me. It was the sweetest gift! Thanks again for stopping in!

Estelle - Jana, thanks for the confidence boost. I’m always totally nervous before doing these, and just about always having a beer along with my recording. (I just hide it!) My birthday weekend was very nice, even if it did fall on the dreaded football event of the year. Boo. At least my husband’s team won. That’s a good thing. 🙂

VeganYANerds - Happy Birthday, Estelle! I love the hot pink earrings that Magan sent you, they are gorgeous!

I’m so glad you’re happy with Raw Blue, I look forward to hearing what you girls think 🙂

Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl - Yay! (I feel like I always start my comments to you with a “yay!” Haha.) Happy birthday, Estelle! I hope you’ve had a nice day, even though it’s Superbowl Sunday. 🙂

What a fun week of books for you! I think I need to learn to embrace the library more. I know I’d be more daring in my book choices if I didn’t have to pay for them!

I’m jealous you have the opportunity to go to such awesome book events! I wish we had more here in Utah.

As always, it’s wonderful to see your face! You’re pretty adorable, and it’s so fun to watch your charismatic vlogs!
