Estelle’s Shelve It >> Cinco de Mayo Books

weekly feature to share the books magan and estelle are adding to their bookshelves each week

It’s a little too early for a margarita and some guacamole, but I hope at some point today you are enjoying both!

No v-log today… I stayed with my parents last night and I have total bedhead right now. Not so pretty. But I do have some fun books to share with you! Woot woot!

The best part of this week was definitely going to the Lauren Graham signing at Barnes + Noble. Unfortunately/fortunately, plenty of people got there before Rachel, Alexa, and I and we stood in line without hearing her talk about her new book, Someday, Someday, Maybe BUT after 2 hours, we each got to meet Lauren. She is gorgeous and very sweet in person.

Lauren Graham Someday Someday Maybe Tour and Signing

She was a total rock star because she signed over 500 autographs that night. Definitely the biggest and most popular signing I’ve ever attended! Just to help you (of course), I am going to provide an Amazon link to Lauren’s book because You Really Must Read It.

In other happy news, Heidi from the YA Bibliophile was sweet enough to get me an autographed Sarah Dessen book after I sent her a box of books for a teen summer program!

Signed Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen

I am absolutely in love with the Sarah Dessen cover redesigns + I love that I now have the first one I read/my favorite in my collection. Thanks so much Heidi!

For review, I have these beauties:

Shelve It For Review May 5 2013: The Newcomber by Robyn Carr, Some of Tim

The Newcomer by Robyn Carr | Release Date: June 25, 2013 (Goodreads)
Some of Tim’s Stories by S.E. Hinton | Release Date: April 30, 2013 (Goodreads)
Piece of My Heart by Lynn Maddalena Menna | Release Date: June 18, 2013 (Goodreads)

Looking forward to these!

And, last but certainly not least, I bought a copy of Tom Leveen’s Party after a huge recommendation from Lena (Addicted 2 Novels). I absolutely adored manicpixiedreamgirl (his new release) and must read everything he has written.

In case you missed any of our posts this week, here’s a quick rundown:

The GLORIOUS list of May releases
Magan’s glowing review of Winger by Andrew Smith
My EEE I’m so excited review of Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith
A review of Life After Theft by Aprilynne Pike, which came out this week.

Ginger @ GReads! - 2 hours?! Woah. That’s crazy awesome. I adore the new Dessen covers, too. I eventually want to get them all, but right now my bank account is not allowing me to do so lol. You’ll have to tell me how Some of Tim’s Stories is. I’m an S.E. Hinton fan (Outsiders!) so I’m curious about this one.

Courtney @ Courtney Reads A Lot - Wow, Estelle! That is awesome that you got to meet Lauren Graham! I can’t help but think of her as Lorelai from Gilmore Girls. I’ll definitely have to check out her book, especially since you recommended it. 😀

Rebecca @ Reading Wishes - So lucky you got to be Lauren Graham, I love her from Gilmore Girls and would love to meet her in person. Her book sounds great and though I’m not an Adult reader, I might recommend it to my mum. 500 autographs is a lot, she really is a rockstar. Also, that’s a great that photo of you and her, you both look lovely. I’ve only read one Dessen book so far and we didn’t hit it off but I’m planning on giving her another go soon. Glad you had fun meeting Lauren, you lucky duck, and happy reading!

Brittany @ The Book Addict's Guide - AHHH Lauren Graham!! I’m actually really interested in her book. I had never thought of her as an author before this but of course loved her as Lorelei Gilmore!
So nice that you got a signed copy of Sarah Dessen’s book!! I think I may have been at that same signing as Heidi? Was it the Illinois one????

Sara (of the Page Sage) - It’s so cool that you met Lauren Graham! I’ve been dying to read Someday, Someday Maybe since you posted your review. I’ll definitely try to get a copy of my own this week. 🙂

Happy Reading!

Bonnie - Oh gosh, that’s so awesome you were able to meet Lauren Graham! I really can’t wait to get my hands on Someday, Someday, Maybe… it sounds so fantastic.

Hannah @ So Obsessed With - I seriously still can’t believe she signed 500+ books. Dang! What a rockstar 🙂 Wish I could have joined y’all – that would have made it even more fun!

Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life - Dang, this Lauren Graham signing sounds like it was HUGE! I’ve been to a fair share of large signings, but I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait for 2 hours just to get my book signed. The author sounds like a total rockstar though, because 500 autographs is a lot! I’m liking the new Sarah Dessen cover redoes as well, although I have yet to pick up a book by her… *hides head in shame* It’s so sweet that Heidi got a signed copy for you though. <3

Anyways, I hope you enjoy all your lovely books, Estelle, and happy reading! <3
