Last week was positively one of the funnest (craziest, most tiring, stimulating) weeks I have had in a while. My husband and I decided to encourage my mom to take a trip to New York during her spring break; she is a teacher. She has been saying for years that she wants to go there. She loves everything Broadway and I just knew that if we didn’t buy our tickets and physically hop on a plane with her, she might never go.
So we did!
We met up with Estelle and her adorable hubby, James, for a little photo session, the Broadway musical Once (!!!!!), and dinner last Sunday. That day was one of the biggest highlights of my entire trip. It’s so hard being so far away from Estelle. We talk on a daily basis and know what’s happening in each others lives, but there’s really nothing like personal interaction. Oh, and Once was seriously freakin’ amazing. If you’re in New York, I (we) highly, highly encourage you to go see it.
Estelle has already gone to see it a second time. It’s THAT good.
Before dinner, with the fading daylight, Estelle and I had Dustyn (my husband) to take a few photos of us together. Not only did we want the pictures for us, but we thought it might be nice to share them with you… so, here you have ’em. And just in case you’re new around these parts, I labeled who we are so you can put our names to faces. 🙂
I snuck in a few photos of Estelle while I was getting my settings correct to pass the camera over to Dustyn. Isn’t she adorable?!
On Tuesday, Estelle and I met up with one of our favorite bloggers, Alexa from Alexa Loves Books. She, too, lives in New York; she and Estelle have met up in the past, so it was a special treat for me to have a New York dinner with Alexa and Estelle! Alexa is one of the sweetest, most adorable, fun-spirited people I’ve ever met. Oh, how I want more time with them together.
Of course I brought along my camera! Here are a few fun photos of us from that night! (Sidenote: If you have the chance, go to Five Napkin Burger in NYC. So delicious I went back the next day with mom and Dustyn!)
*The restaurant was dimmly lit so the photos are a little grainy, but I like them anyway.
I have one more thing I’m working on to share with you guys. Seriously cannot wait to put it on the blog. It makes me laugh so much.
