Hello? Hi. Checking in.

Just checking in to say hello and hope you are well after a horrific past few days, and some unexpectedly unexpected things going on here. It’s like every time I turn around, the month has gotten farther and farther away from me. I mean, next week is THANKSGIVING. And then officially the holiday season. I really […]

Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads - i tried the 30 day challenge a few times, but I didn’t make it too far. I love going to a yoga studio, and have tried a few new kinds of yoga over the past few years. I love it and it feels like more than just exercise — yoga makes me feel at peace and centred too. I recently found a podcast with 20 minute yoga sessions, and I did the first one tonight. I’m going to try to practice every day (but will be gentle with myself if I don’t). Great post, and I hope you keep writing these check-in posts — I love them!

Alexa S. - I love seeing your personal updates, E! I’m sending lots of positive thoughts your way and hoping that the holiday season to come makes your days brighter and merrier and all things wonderful. So glad you achieved some personal goals! And I’m definitely checking out this book list – I want to know what I’m missing out on, reading-wise 😉

Emma @ Miss Print - I showed a class of seventh graders some book trailers after my research demo and they seemed really excited about My Life in Dioramas so I’m hoping a lot of them will check it out.

If Instagram really is the new blog, I am in BIG trouble because it’s my least favorite (and to me most cumbersome) form of social media on which I am currently active.

MK - Bless you for getting through all 30 days. I tried. I really wanted to. I love Adrienne. But I could not get the hang of it and I was always trying to look at the screen and get the poses right and…I gave up! Go you! Hope this week is a good one! xo

What Feels Good | Monday, Monday

Hey, it’s a new week and a new month! I’m back here again with this stream of consciousness Monday thing. But, of course, it’s Sunday and I’m cooking a meat pie (just call me Mrs. Lovett) and getting ready to settle in for sports and Walking Dead (which we have all been pining away for, […]

Garrett - Really enjoyed reading your post! The way you speak about your marriage at the point in life you’re at makes me look inside myself. I may just be 21 (nearlyyyy 22) but I can’t help but wonder what my future holds already. Like a ton of blank pages to be written every day, I hope it turns out to be a good read!

Alexa S. - I’m really looking forward to seeing Waitress (the musical). It should be a lot of fun, and I do love Sara Bareilles! Also, I really like the idea of just holding onto and recognizing what feels good. That’s important, especially when it comes to making sure the things in your life (or people) are making you happy and helping you be at peace. I love that you got so honest about marriage too. It’s hard work, but also worth it every time <3

Good morning (good day) to you and you and you

Hi, how are you?! I’m trying something new over here this morning. (Actually, it’s Sunday night and I’m watching The Talking Dead and trying not to feel devastated.) So hello. Hope your weekend was excellent. I caught up with an old, amazing friend, stuffed myself with lovely biscuits and grilled cheese, actually sat down to watch a movie […]

Alexa S. - I love this post, E! Glad to hear things are going well for you <3 And there's still plenty of time to get your Christmas shopping done, and to do some more of the things that you want to do before the year ends! Hope you find a good romance to read 🙂

Molly | wrapped up in books - I need to read the new A.S. King. I also just checked out All American Boys from the library (along with like 10 other books, but it’s near the top of the list…)

Have a great week!

Leah - (and if you find a romance worth reading, pass it along my way! I’ve been in the mood for a swoony read lately!)

Leah - I actually LOVE the idea of having someone pick out my clothes for me! My mom and my sisters have the most amazing fashion sense so I know they’d rock my wardrobe (or – fingers crossed – they’d end up picking things from their own closets for me!) I’ve been seeing a lot of articles lately about moms letting their toddlers dress them and I think some of the results are adorable…BUT I think it helps to already have a fab set of clothes to begin with. Netflix recently added a documentary about Iris Apfel and since watching it I’ve been taking risks with my clothes, mixing up patterns and colors, pairing items I never had considered before. I’m having a blast with it so far!
