Attention, Attention! Wild Cards

Allow me to take you back to the days of Tiger Beat and Teen Beat for a revival of Attention, Attention. Estelle reviewed Wild Cards over a year-and-a-half ago on the blog, but I recently had the pleasure of listening to the audio book. I really, really enjoyed my experience and the book, despite how often it made […]

Liz - Yes please, Wilson Bethel! I love Wade so much. Thanks for the eye candy.

Attention, Attention: We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

Since I listened to We Were Liars by E. Lockhart as an audiobook, it seemed fitting to share a little bit about it with you via a vlog. Just in case you’re at work, though, I’ll highlight a few things I loved and you can also check out Estelle’s amazing review. She said it was […]

Magan - Rosie, I agree with you. I was so shocked by what happened that I couldn’t stop thinking about it. But I think that’s WHY I love it so much. It has stuck with me and was so absolutely different than what I’ve read recently. It was such a nice change of pace and obviously very memorable for both of us. Thanks for your comment! xo

Magan - ALEXA! Yes, exactly! Listening to it just made it seem even more daunting. I couldn’t stop listening! Thanks for your comment! xo

Alexa S. - I bet We Were Liars is interesting to listen to as an audiobook! It was pretty twisty and intriguing to read it, but I can only imagine how, with a great narrator, the story would be even MORE compelling. Glad you enjoyed it M!

Rosie - I read this a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the ending for a few days, it was shocking and I couldn’t decide whether I liked it or not initially. On reflection, I really enjoyed it.

Attention Attention: Sorta Like a Rock Star

Clothes. Nail polish. Books. What do these three things have in common? They are my greatest vices! I buy them and buy them and buy them and have created such a collection of new merchandise that I have yet to wear, use, or read that things are getting a little ridiculous. This year, I’ve tried […]

Judith - You know I bought this a while ago because you said it was amazing, but now that I read this I really want to read it NOW (damn review copies!) because it sounds amazing. I can’t wait to meet Amber and read such a hopeful book. (Speaking of which, did you know If You Find Me is very hopeful? 😉

Rebecca @ Reading Wishes - I’d seen this at the library many times before and picked it up at my last visit, remembering how much you’d loved it! Looking forward to reading it soon, hopefully I enjoy it as much as you did 🙂

Hannah @ So Obsessed With - I really love the three lessons you included at the end of your review. But I can’t lie – being called your unofficial life coach was totally my favorite part of this post! I’ve been so impressed by your book buying ban AND your focus on backlist titles already on your bookshelf. I need to follow your lead and do that too!

April 11, 2014 - 9:32 pm

Alexa S. - I WANT TO READ THIS BOOK NOW. Thanks, E! (And I say that with equal parts love and amusement.) It sounds fantastic! And it also sounds like a story I would really like too 🙂

April 11, 2014 - 5:00 pm

Maggie @ Just a Couple More Pages - You made me want to read this again! Even though I am not a god person I loved Amber’s honest, real faith in god. Oh and the Korean singers, I really loved them. I hope you’ve convinced more people to read this because it’s so good!

Candice @ The Grown-Up YA - Yay for hidden gems! There’s really nothing quite like them. This one sounds really great; I love a lot of these themes in books and it sounds like these are really well done. I’ll have to give it a try!

Hello, friends! Attention, Attention! is back with a little twist (and the first time I, Magan, am writing one)! This feature is for when we read books the other has already reviewed on the blog and we just need to fangirl about it a little bit more because you just need to read it. So […]

Natalie - This book is on my Spring TBR list, but now I just want to read it even more!!! Those quotes are so funny! I’m sure I’m going to love this book. Audrey and Victoria seem like a good BFF team and a funny one too!

March 16, 2013 - 10:53 pm

Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life - Yup. This seals the deal. When I go to my library on Monday, I’ll be checking this one out for sure! The quotes are just so hilarious, and I’m LOVING the interactions between Audrey and her MC. And the fact that Audrey and her parents are close is so neat! I feel like that kind of relationship isn’t common in YA when it really should be.

Thanks for sharing, Magan! <3

March 16, 2013 - 7:14 pm

Holly - I’ve been wanting to read this one for awhile now but for some reason I just haven’t gotten to it yet. I’m going to have to check it out now, though! 🙂

This is a really awesome feature, by the way!

March 16, 2013 - 5:40 pm

VeganYANerds - I’ve wanted to read this so long based on the awesome pink & orange cover and the wonderful reviews. I even have a copy, received via book swap, and I still have not read it. I must get to it, soon!!

Love this feature, it’s a nice way of promo-ing your fave books 🙂

March 15, 2013 - 7:43 pm

Bookworm1858 - I feel like these quotes are showing a very good friendship between Audrey and Victoria although they are also reminding me that I put this book down because I felt there was a lot of swearing and I generally prefer clean books (in terms of language).

March 15, 2013 - 4:12 pm

Mary @ My Sisters Bookshelf - FAVORITE YA EVER! But that’s something you knew already probably 🙂

March 15, 2013 - 1:46 pm

Alexa Y. - I really, really need to read this one! I just read my first Benway book (Also Known As) recently, and loved how it was written. I’m pretty sure I’m going to like Audrey and her BFF too!
