Magan - Rosie, I’m so excited! I hope you read Wildflower and love it, especially since you’re a fan of Nashville. i think it’ll be perfect for you!

July 22, 2014 - 4:04 pm

Magan - Leah, I hope you’ve picked it up since reading my review. I hope you love it and give it a shot even though there’s obviously more of the story to come! xo

July 22, 2014 - 4:03 pm

Magan - April, I like the name Bird, too! I’m so glad you downloaded the book. I need to go scope your site out and see if you’ve read it yet! Can’t wait to see what you think. xo

June 25, 2014 - 7:16 am

April Books & Wine - I like the name Bird, seriously, I do.

I just downloaded Wildflower from one of those LB emails and I am so glad I did now. This books sounds like a me sort of book – in that there’s family and country music and record labels and siblings and I love ALL THOSE THINGS.

Also, I do not love books that don’t have solid endings but knowing there will be a sequel eases that.

June 25, 2014 - 6:37 am

Leah - Oh my gosh, Magan, this sounds wonderful!! How has this not shown up on my radar until now?! This is SUCH a Leah book!

🙁 That’s disappointing about the ending though. A few months ago I read a novel that felt like it was missing the last few chapters..it simply ended in the middle of a scene. Talk about abrupt!

June 25, 2014 - 2:46 am

Rosie - I love Nashville, currently working my way through the end of series 1, so this sounds right up my street. Looking forward to getting my paws on this.

The Bookish Manicurist - You have me so intrigued about the ending now, Estelle! Plus this sounds different to most YA I read

February 15, 2014 - 12:44 pm

Maggie @ Just a Couple More Pages - Ok, this sounds really good. Why have I never heard of it before? You’re scaring me with the talk of the twist at the end, but I guess I’ll have to read it and see what I think because of rest of it sounds like I’ll really enjoy it.

February 13, 2014 - 6:59 pm

Ellice - Yet another thing you and I have in common (cowboys!). I have always been attracted to them (we have quite a few around here though!). And also? Country music!! I grew up on it, so any book that sounds even remotely country-related, I snatch it up. This one is going on the TBR for sure. Great review 🙂

February 13, 2014 - 2:21 pm

Annette - Blindsided — totally. I just didn’t think that ending was at all necessary….Enjoyed the rest of the book, though. It’s been a while. Thanks for the reminder.

February 13, 2014 - 11:40 am

Alexa S. - PARADISE sounds like such a fun read! I love that fact that the relationship between the sisters, and within Paisley’s family, is an important part of the story. Plus, I can never resist a story set in the South OR one with country music these days 🙂

February 13, 2014 - 10:23 am

Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook - I have a thing for Cowboys, too. I think I just like the idea of really laid back guys. Hard working guys, but laid back, too. Also, I think of them as really manly.

Oh, and yeah, The Naked Cowboy doesn’t do it for me either.

I’m not sure if I would like Paradise, but I’m really curious about the BIG TWIST at the end.

February 13, 2014 - 9:22 am

Lena @ Addicted 2 Novels - Awesome review, hon! I really liked this book up until I got to the ending. The ending made me want to vomit all over myself, hahaha.

Jamie - I’ve been wondering about this one! I think I need to pick this one up soon because it sounds great PLUS I’m feeling like I need something to fill the Nashville shaped hole in my heart. I LOVE THAT SHOW.

June 24, 2013 - 4:16 pm

Wendy - I really want to read this one! I’m actually a country fan. =) I think I’d love this.

June 20, 2013 - 2:10 pm

tabithasbookblog - I have to read this one! I’ve recently been reading all things Jennifer Echols, so naturally this has just been moved up on my TBR! I’m really interested in finding out what drove the two sisters apart and what Sam may or may not be hiding!

Great review!

June 19, 2013 - 9:38 pm

Taylor @ Reading is the Thing - Jennifer Echols superfan here! I’m so excited to read Dirty Little Secret! I saw a so/so review of it the other day and got scared, so I’m really glad you liked it so much. Fantastic review Megan!

Nicole - ♥ Steamy scenes. CHECK
♥ Hot love interest. CHECK
♥ Strong-willed main character. CHECK
♥ A little bit of country music in the great city of Nashville, TN. CHECK
♥ A big helping of family drama. CHECK

😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 So excited for this one! We are on the blog tour so I will be reading it soon! YAY! Thanks for sharing!!

Nicole @ The Quiet Concert

June 19, 2013 - 5:16 pm

Molli - I didn’t like this one at all, as far as the characters, family dynamic, and romance. AT ALL. I DID love seeing how big of an influence music was (YAY country music!), and I did enjoy the writing style. But despite liking Sam, I didn’t think he and Bailey were healthy together at all. Blech! But this is a really honest and fair review, which is of the good. 🙂

June 19, 2013 - 4:04 pm

Jen @ Pop! Goes The Reader - Okay, it’s official: I need this book in my possession ASAP. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the previous Echols novel I read, Such A Rush, this one sounds like it was tailor made for me. This was a great review! It really increased my anticipation about this release. (Although I’m not sure whether that’s a good thing or not!) 😉

June 19, 2013 - 3:14 pm

Alexa Y. - I am currently in the middle of a country music phase myself, as the music seems to pair so well with all the sunshine and beautiful weather. DIRTY LITTLE SECRET sounds like an amazing Echols book! I think I’ll definitely enjoy it, so I’ll have to look into procuring a copy as soon as I can.

June 19, 2013 - 11:44 am

Rachel - So basically I want to read this book for every reason you listed above. I love me some family drama and country music. And Sam and Bailey’s relationship sounds HOT which is totally great. I would also like to know this suspicious storyline of his.

June 19, 2013 - 11:04 am

Ginger @ GReads! - I had a hard time figuring Sam out, too. And to be honest, I wasn’t 100% on board with him even at the end. Things just didn’t.. settle well with me. But! This is an Echols book! And you KNOW my love for this woman, so of course I was pleased with the story overall.

June 19, 2013 - 10:32 am

Candice @ The Grown-Up YA - While I felt some of your reservations… I decided to shrug them off and say “whatever” because this book was SO good! I loved the scene, the music… While country music is definitely not my taste, I think I would’ve enjoyed the kind they played! And wow, that steamy scene… I got protective of Bailey too but wow. Great review!

June 19, 2013 - 10:10 am

Basma - I’m really looking forward to this! I clicked onto this after Jennifer Echols tweeted about – so it was obviously amazing.
Dirty Little Secret just seems like a book I’d love to read. Your review’s made me even more excited to read it.
Thanks! 🙂

Brittany @ The Book Addict's Guide - WOOOOO!!!
I’m about 75 pages in so far? I’m reading it exclusively at work so it’s taking a looooong time but now I MAY ignore work to read some more today haha. I’m really enjoying it so far and I love the type of drama that is going down. Super curious and I LOVE Sam.
I’m REALLY loving the music aspect too. I’m not a country girl AT ALL but I love being able to relate to the music side of it (even though I’m not nearly as technical… whatever, I count a semester of music theory as basic knowledge haha. I’m stretching it, I know), but nevertheless, I’m making a connection there and I like it!
Great review! You got me all jazzed up for it again 🙂

A Beginner’s Guidebook to Austin via Lovestruck Summer - […] re-read Melissa Walker’s Lovestruck Summer, which she’s raved to me about so, so much (and as she did in her review). Seeing as it’s set in my city, Austin, TX, I knew I needed to read it, too. Plus I just […]

Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - I really want to read this book! Again with the perfect summer reads – this one sounds like it would fit the bill!

June 15, 2012 - 6:17 am

April Books & Wine - SO, this post went up when I was away at BEA and I am SUPER SORRY for not commenting sooner, but in all honesty I have had the window/tab open since I got home, just have not gotten around to commenting.

I am sooooo glad you loved Lovestruck Summer. I feel like maybe it gets the shaft because of the crap cover, but it’s such a good, strong contemporary read. I mean there’s music! A cute boy! Family! Changing impressions! An internship!

Pretty much all elements that I LOVEEEE.

Also? I really like country music a lot too.

June 4, 2012 - 8:09 pm

VeganYANerds - I love that this was a great book, despite the cartoonish-cover also it’s so sweet that it reminded you of how you and Magan met!

I’m really enjoying the new adult books that are popping up so I definitely want to read this soon!

June 4, 2012 - 3:03 pm

Morgan - I read this one a couple years ago and really liked it! (I live in Texas so I love reading books that are set in Texas 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it!
