VeganYANerds - Ahhhh! I am SO glad that this is good, I tend to stay away from celeb novels, too, but this is one I plan on reading… maybe I will even wait and buy it in NYC – seems appropriate!

April 5, 2013 - 5:20 am

Lori - Just started this last night and now I’m even more excited to dive into it! I’m already picturing Franny as Lauren Graham too…

April 4, 2013 - 11:22 am

Sharon @ The Book Barbies - THIS BOOK. When I first discovered it, I saw that the author was Lauren Graham and immediately started Googling, because surely it wasn’t THE Lauren Graham. But lo and behold, it was! I have never clicked the “to-read” button with so much glee! I cannot wait to read this book. It sounds wonderful. I adore the cover. I had no idea Jennifer E. Smith was the editor, but that’s fantastic! Everything about it makes me want to read it. Definitely getting my hands on this one as soon as possible after it comes out!

(Also, I will TOTALLY fail at the not-seeing-Lauren-Graham challenge. I know this already, LOL.)

daphne - i have this from netgalley as well and i was kind of on the fence about even reading it, but i think i will now. great review.

April 3, 2013 - 7:01 pm

Renae @ Respiring Thoughts - I’ve really been looking forward to this review! I was so excited when I found out that Lauren Graham wrote a book, and even more excited when you said it was great. I do think that maybe the acting element would be off-putting at first, as it was for you, but otherwise this sounds exactly like my kind of read.

April 3, 2013 - 6:59 pm

Sara (of the Page Sage) - Ooh this sounds really good! (Also, that cover is GORGEOUS.) I’m all for books set in the city and the characters sound great.

April 3, 2013 - 5:58 pm

Kimmy - I’ve already preordered this book! I love Lauren Graham and think this book sounds great. Your review got me even more excited to read this one!

April 3, 2013 - 4:27 pm

Annie - This sounds amazing! I love books set in NYC, and I love books about acting! I think this book and I will get along just fine. 😉 Awesome review!

April 3, 2013 - 4:18 pm

Ellice - Yay, your review made me even more excited for this book– I definitely had that “oh no, one of my fave celebs wrote a book… what if I don’t like it?!” fear. Even though I LOVE reading YA books, it will be nice to read about a character who is my age. Thanks for the awesome review! 🙂

April 3, 2013 - 4:07 pm

Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl - I got this on Netgalley because it sounded cute, but I have had the same reservations you did. I’m so glad you liked it, and now I can’t wait to read it!

April 3, 2013 - 3:49 pm

Kayla Elizabeth - Literally just got an ecopy of this this morning and nearly wet myself. I am so excited to get started with this. Lauren Graham writing a novel… how perfect is that?

April 3, 2013 - 2:39 pm

Tiff @ Mostly YA Lit - This is next on my TBR – I’ve got an eARC and I am ridonkulously excited after your review. Thanks for doing it so early, I can’t wait to read it!

April 3, 2013 - 2:38 pm

Alexa Y. - I really, really, really want to read this book! It sounds like a coming-of-age story for older people (in a way), and I really think that it’s going to strike a chord with me. I love that it’s about an aspiring actress too, and that it’s set in NYC. This is definitely going to be a fun read!

April 3, 2013 - 2:08 pm

Lisa [is busy nerding] - I love that this is a coming of age but new adult book at the same time. Seriously – this sounds amazing. Thank you for sharing the review of a book I wouldn’t have given a second thought about otherwise!

April 3, 2013 - 1:56 pm

Cynthia - Oh this one sounds great and I don’t even read adult books but I’ll definitely be adding this one to my list. I’m actually thinking of starting to read a few adult books every now and then, you can’t live off of YA forever can you? I need to spice it up a little and start with some great adult fiction. =) Will definitely look forward to this one and I’m so glad it wasn’t a disappointment to you especially being a fan of the writer/actress.

April 3, 2013 - 1:02 pm

Maggie @ Young Adult Anonymous - Wait, you saw Lauren Graham on Broadway?? JEALOUS.

Leeza Gibbons! Hahaha. I can’t wait to read this. And you are SO right about there not being enough books about people in their late 20s who didn’t take the straight path to success. Great review, Estelle.

April 3, 2013 - 12:13 pm

Bonnie - I loved her in Gilmore Girls and had been so tempted by this book but wasn’t sure… I’m so glad to hear that you loved it though! Definitely adding this to my TBR now. 🙂
Bonnie @ Sweet Tidbits

Tara - I remember chatting with you about this book. I think I definitely need to pick up a copy. Or should I watch GG first? (I know, I never watched it)

April 3, 2013 - 11:25 am

Andrea @Cozy Up With A Good Read - Yay, I’m so glad that this book was awesome. I was a little nervous because like you I’m a huge Lauren Graham fan and want her to be successful at everything. I’m so excited to read this book soon, it sounds adorable and you are right, there are not enough books about people in their 20’s trying to make it in the real world. I love seeing something that is relatable to me. Great review!

April 3, 2013 - 9:44 am

Maggie @ Just a Couple More Pages - Wow, great review. I had zero desire to read this (I don’t really like Lauren Graham, I know, I’m weird), but now I can’t wait. Thanks!
