Top 10 Tuesday: Childhood Favorites

Estelle: A few years ago, I started a ritual with one of my best friends (I’ve known her since kindergarten and in March, she was a bridesmaid in my wedding!). For holidays, we buy each other books we used to read when we were in elementary school. At first it was easy. There were the […]

Jenny - As a 7th grade English teacher I put Kristy’s Great Idea (BSC #1) in my classroom library last year…so excited that they re-released them to look more modern. Sadly, it keeps just sitting there. I read them much earlier than 7th grade and loved them. I was hoping to get some of my lower readers to try it and love it too, but to no avail! They don’t know what they’re missing! Love, love, love them!! Corduroy is also such a favorite, and I had forgotten about Anastasia. The minute you mentioned her dad I remembered how much I loved them!

Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - I was a huge fan of the Babysitters Club! I collected all the books, including the mystery and special editions. My favorite was always Stacey but my friends insisted I was Mary-Anne, haha.

I also loved the Anastasia Krupnik series, Wayside School and Charlotte’s Web. But my favorite that you’ve included on your list is Walk Two Moons! I totally forgot about that book *sheepish smile* but now that you’ve reminded me, I remember it so well!

Jana - I haven’t read pretty much everything you have on your list! I heard about them growing up, though, but was never interested in reading any of them. Haha. I read a few of the Babysitters Club, and Dawn was also my favorite. I think a teacher read one of the Wayside School books to me, but I’m not sure. What a fun list!

Michelle - We do have a lot of the same titles on our list! I also loved the character of Dawn in BSC- and I too wanted to be just as cool as Claudia and Stacey. Wayside School and Corduroy did not make my list, but I sure loved those books.

PS. Your blog design is really lovely and elegant 🙂
