Happy Halloween, book lovers! Nothing too spooky going on around these parts, but I am so enthused to share this month’s Big Kids’ Table with you! (I’m down to the wire… on the last day of the month, but the wait is worth it, I swear!) Thanks to some brainstorming sessions with Cassie I decided to reach […]

katy - I love this! I actually haven’t read any of these books except for Golden. I’ve been wanting to read Openly Straight for a while, and I need to check out some of the others and the adult picks! Wonder When You’ll Miss Me and Tales from the City sound really intriguing!

October 31, 2013 - 11:16 pm

Bookworm1858 - Ooh excited about Kirby’s pick. I am intrigued about Caletti’s adult outing and then I’ve had Treacherous on repeat for a while now too so I really want to know how that will be reflected in her novel.

October 31, 2013 - 7:43 pm

Jamie - What a fun way to switch it up this month! I love it! Definitely want to check out Wonder When You’ll Miss Me. I’ve had Ernest Hemingway on my shelf for years and have still not gotten to that book. EMBARRASSING. Totally didn’t know Deb Caletti wrote adult fiction also!

October 31, 2013 - 1:54 pm

Lena @ Addicted 2 Novels - Love this! I love it when authors let us know what they’re up to next as well as books they recommend.

October 31, 2013 - 9:09 am

Cassie - I seriously love this post, and the authors involved [that I’ve read!] I hope you do another like this eventually, such a great twist on Big Kids Table!

Happy Halloween!

January 2013 Young Adult Book Releases

    Oh, hi there! Yup. We’re moving on to 2013. Can you believe it? A new year? HOW DID 2012 GO BY SO QUICKLY? It seems like I was just waiting for The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith and Cinder by Marissa Meyer. There are tons and tons of […]

December 29, 2012 - 11:09 pm

Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life - Magan, you are totally right about 2013 starting off with a huge bang! Seriously, I’m about to start drooling over all these pretties. SO many of these books are ones I’ve been waiting forever for, like Asunder, Prodigy, Everbound, and Through the Ever Night. I can’t wait to see what these sophomore authors have in store for us next with their second books!! I’m also really looking forward to The Archived. I’ve only seen gushing reviews of it so far, and it sounds so utterly unique. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Level 2 is also look fantastic! AND it’s written by a book blogger, so it really can’t get better than that. 😉 It’s going to be one of the few debuts that I preorder, I believe.

Thanks so much for putting this lovely post together, Magan! January 2013 is going to be fabulous!

December 29, 2012 - 10:31 pm

Asheley Tart (@BookwormAsheley) - I want to comment on all of these books, but that would take forever. I *will* say that I’ve read Revolution 19 and it was fun. I JUST finished Prodigy and WOW WOW WOW. Also, since I base lots of my reading on covers (I know, I know, shallow Asheley?) I may have a tough time choosing from these because ALL of these covers are so great. And I already want to read them all. The beginning of 2013 is SUCH a great, exciting time to be a fan of YA!

December 29, 2012 - 9:23 pm

Lisa the Nerd - Level 2! Level 2! Level 2!

December 29, 2012 - 8:46 pm

Magan - Gaby – you’re such a sweetheart! These posts do take me a while, but that’s usually because wordpress decides to format things oddly and it drives me nuts. Haha! So happy you’re looking forward to so much. I swear I’ll spend all my Christmas money in January! 😉

Mands — I love the repackage too. I’ve only read one Caletti book so I’m definitely anxious for more!

Sara — I know, right?! SO much awesome!

December 29, 2012 - 8:45 pm

Magan - Me, too, Lily. There are SO MANY good books coming out!

December 29, 2012 - 8:26 pm

Lily - January is going to be such a good month for new releases I’m super excited… I just wish my bank account could say the same.

December 29, 2012 - 7:13 pm

Gaby @ Queen Ella Bee Reads - This list is AMAZING. I’m talking mostly about the fact that you compiled it. What’s on it is also pretty great. Not to mention, I’m excited about a lot of things on it, especially Just One Day, All You Need is Love, Then You Were Gone, Paper Valentine, Return to Me and Nobody But Us. Thanks for all the hard work! ^_^

December 29, 2012 - 4:09 am

VeganYANerds - 2012 really did fly by, I can’t believe it!

I got all excited when I saw Love Is All You Need, thinking it was a new book by Deb but then I see it’s a re-package. Still, I love the title and the cover!

Also, can’t wait for Falling for You – have just heard good things about it!

December 29, 2012 - 12:09 am

Sara (of the Page Sage) - Ah! Too many awesome books! I’m especially excited for Just One Day, The Archived, and Paper Valentine.

April 2012 Young Adult Book Releases

There are so many awesome books coming out in the next couple of months. I wanted to take some time to spotlight some of the April 2012 Young Adult book releases that Estelle and I have on our TBR lists! If one (or both) of us has read it, I linked our reviews, too, so […]

April 12, 2012 - 2:15 am

Summer - Thanks for the April list! You actually listed a couple that I hadn’t checked out yet to add to my (now ridiculously huge) April list!

Below is a short list that you should look into! (Also: If you’ve reviewed these in any previous posts then my apologies!)

Teen and YA April Books of Awesome:

Grave Mercy :: R.L. LaFevers
Storm (Elementals, Bk 1) :: Brigid Kemmerer
Magic Under Stone :: Jaclyn Dolamore
Unraveling :: Elizabeth Norris
Above :: Leah Bobet
The Calling :: Kelly Armstrong
Taken at Dusk :: C.C. Hunter
Masque of the Red Death :: Bethany Griffin
The Immortal Rules :: Julie Kagawa
The Book of Blood and Shadow :: Robin Wasserman
Black Heart :: Holly Black
The Last Echo :: Kimberly Derting
Social Suicide :: Gemma Halliday
Immortal City :: Scott Speer
Glimmer :: Phoebe Kitanidis

Seriously, for 2012 titles alone, it will take yeeears to get through all of the releases! Books are absolutely worth it and I’m thrilled that there are so many authors debuting! If only I could literally__only__read for hours and hours on end and be paid for it. Ha!

Anyway, my asinine babbling aside: Enjoy! 🙂

April 1, 2012 - 9:35 pm

Jasmine Rose - The Selection and Thumped are both high on my want list 😀

April 1, 2012 - 6:41 pm

Karen - Thanks for the reminder about Zero. I loved Party Down by Tom Leveen so I’m really looking forward to reading this one.

VeganYANerds - Ah! You guys have listed so many books that I want to read, how will I ever find the time? Lexapros and Cons looks fun and I just got a copy of Dying to Know You so I’ll have to read that soon, too.

March 31, 2012 - 8:43 am

Estelle - This list makes me really anxious. haha. And excited. Yes, I commented on our own blog.

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic is ten books we’re anxious to read this spring. Jasmine Rose - My Life Next Door is high up on my list too :]
Where it Began looks really good too. And of course, I’m really, REALLY looking forward to Insurgent and The Selection.

March 21, 2012 - 4:46 am

Ashley @ Ashley Loves Books - YES, YES and YES to this entire list. Ours overlap quite a bit, there are just so many awesome books coming out soon! I’ve got Unbreak My Heart from NetGalley in my queue, and I desperately want to just skip it ahead of all the others haha.

March 20, 2012 - 11:00 pm

Magan - Amanda, YES! Definitely a NetGalley member. We love it; it’s been really awesome to get books that way…and, um, it’s nice to have the downloads because then I don’t realize how many books I have to read. Haha. So many books on our bookshelves and sitting everywhere in my house! 🙂

March 20, 2012 - 10:59 pm

Magan - Christina! I so agree! I love the cover of MLND. I can’t wait to read it! 🙂 I hope I get to all of these too. If I do, it’ll be a fantastic spring!

March 20, 2012 - 9:57 pm

Amanda @ Sisters Unedited - YEA! Fellow Netgalley member! I love that site! I was glad to see you have Timepiece. I enjoyed the first one, but it was so hard to limit myself to ten. Insurgent did make my top ten though! Yea to Four!
Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday

Happy Spring Reading!
Amanda @ Sisters Unedited

March 20, 2012 - 9:45 pm

Christina (BookTasty) - A huge YES to Insurgent! And the cover to My Life Next Door looks so cute! 🙂 I hope you get to all the titles on this list!

March 20, 2012 - 8:24 pm

Magan - Tabitha, I so agree! YAY BOOKs! Thanks for stopping by our blog! 🙂

March 20, 2012 - 8:22 pm

Magan - Julie! Thanks for your comment. Timepiece is the sequel to Hourglass by Myra McEntire! You should definitely check out Hourglass – I LOVED IT! 🙂

March 20, 2012 - 7:53 pm

Tabitha - There are so many great books coming out this spring… It’s so exciting! I can’t wait to read Second Chance Summer and The Selection. Great list! (:

March 20, 2012 - 7:17 pm

Julie S. - That Timepiece book looks really interesting. Great list!

March 20, 2012 - 6:55 pm

Magan - Agreed, Kallia! I think so, too! Thanks for the heads up about Where it Began. You’re the second person who said that today!

March 20, 2012 - 6:31 pm

Kailia Sage - Yes to Insurgent! I think everyone is waiting for that one! Where it Began wasn’t my favorite book but you might like it better than I did!

March 20, 2012 - 5:10 pm

Magan - Thanks, Mands! I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump, so this list really made me excited for all that’s coming! It’s going to be a great spring for reading!

March 20, 2012 - 5:09 pm

Magan - Sash! Yes! I have it on NetGalley. I need to make time for Unbreak My Heart soon. I <3 Melissa Walker!

March 20, 2012 - 5:09 pm

VeganYANerds - I am definitely waiting on Insurgent, I wish it was June NOW! And I like the covers for The Story of Us and the Summer My Life Began too – you chose great books!

March 20, 2012 - 5:08 pm

Sash - Unbreak My Heart. YES. Looks so good. XOXO

March 20, 2012 - 3:35 pm

Magan - Hannah: That’s such a wise idea. I wanted to go “browse” Barnes and Noble SOOO badly today, but didn’t. I should not buy any more books for a while. I need to get caught up on all the awesome ones I have here! AND YES! READ DIVERGENT ASAP! 🙂

March 20, 2012 - 3:28 pm

Hannah - This is such a fabulous list! None of them made my top ten but that’s just because I’m trying to limit myself to catching up on old reads. However, I’m dying to read The Selection, Second Chance Summer and My Life Next Door. I’d include Insurgent, but I still haven’t read Divergent! Fail. Although the descriptions for all sound good, I’m mostly in love with their covers haha! I’m usually really guilty of judging a book by its cover 🙂

March 20, 2012 - 3:23 pm

Magan - Melanie! Yes! Hourglass was so good. I can’t wait to be back inside Myra’s world! I <3 her writing!

March 20, 2012 - 3:21 pm
March 20, 2012 - 2:25 pm

Magan - Hollie, I’ve never read anything by Morgan Matson before. This will be my first, but good gosh does it look like the perfect one to start with! 🙂 AND YES! COME ON INSURGENT RELEASE DATE! I need to plan to have the whole day to sit and read!

March 20, 2012 - 2:20 pm

Hollie - I swear, I’m going to lose the plot if I don’t read Second Chance Summer as soon as it’s released. I need my Morgan Matson fix! The same goes for Insurgent too, I’m (im)patiently waiting for May 1st so I can read this!

March 20, 2012 - 2:00 pm

Magan - Daisy, I’ve noticed Insurgent being on everyone’s list, too! So much excitement about that book. I was oooohing over a post Veronica Roth put up today about whether Four will be called Four or Tobiah in Insurgent. I got goose bumps from the post. Oh, the anticipation is killing me!

March 20, 2012 - 1:57 pm

Daisy - I love all the summer romances on your list!! 🙂 It’s just something about early spring that makes me crave those as well, though they didn’t make my list.
EVERYONE has Insurgent on their list! I still need to read Divergent, but I already pre-ordered Insurgent because I’m trusting the blogosphere to be right about how awesome Divergent is 🙂
Happy spring reading!

March 20, 2012 - 1:56 pm

Magan - Same here, Tanya, same here! And thank you so much. I’m so glad you stopped by!

March 20, 2012 - 1:54 pm

Tanya Patrice - This is such an awesome list – there are so many books I want to read too – like Insurgent. Can’t wait to finally get my hands on it.

March 20, 2012 - 11:52 am

Magan - Yes, you should definitely check it out, Nicole! I just finished reading it and it was a good read. Not up there with Divergent for me, but still a good read. 🙂

March 20, 2012 - 11:43 am

Nicole - I can’t wait for Insurgent. The Selection also looks really interesting; I think I’ll check that out.

March 20, 2012 - 10:52 am

Magan - Lena! WHAT the WHAT? That’s like Four blasphemy or something! Haha! 😉

March 20, 2012 - 10:51 am

Lena @ Addicted 2 Novels - AHHHH, how in the world did I forget about Insurgent and Timepiece?! Shame on me!

LOVE YOU, MAGAN! 😀

March 20, 2012 - 10:48 am

Magan - Heeeeeyyy, twin Anna! 😉 I know! I always get the best recommendations from you.

March 20, 2012 - 10:44 am

Anna - I feel like I’m a book twinsie with you on ALL OF THESE.

March 20, 2012 - 9:25 am

Magan - April, I can’t wait to read your review for Where It Began to see if you like Gabby more once you’re done. It’s always so hard for me to be so excited about a book and then to be let down. Thanks so much for your comment! 🙂

March 20, 2012 - 9:19 am

April Books & Wine - I’m about to finish Where It Began. It’s a decent book although the protagonist, Gabby, is really hard to like/connect with at first, but the whole storyline is interesting.

OH MY GOODNESS INSURGENT! I am sooooooooooooo pumped for that book.

Also? Really looking forward to Second Chance Summer.

And yeah, pretty much all of the books on here!

March 20, 2012 - 8:55 am

Magan - Me, too, Ginger! It’s been on my TBR list for what feels like forever. And I’m glad we’ll be picking up some of the same books (ahem, INSURGENT!) so we can talk about them!

March 20, 2012 - 7:54 am

Ginger @ GReads! - I so desperately want to read Second Chance Summer! Our TBR lists for spring look very similar 🙂
