Kristen Evey - Magan, I love both your and Estelle’s reviews. They are always very fair and balanced. You girls state your opinions (negative or positive) without attacking. It’s fantastic, and it’s why this is one of my favorite blogs. 🙂

I don’t think I’ll be reading this one. I’m not a huge contemp fan to begin with, and there are SO many other ones on my list right now that I probably won’t get to this one. Thanks for the great review as always!

VeganYANerds - It’s so odd that the character’s likeability was reversed, it sounds like an odd way to write a book and doesn’t really appeal to me. It’s a shame this was a bit of a let down but you review is so balanced!

Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - I still think this book sounds pretty fun. I’m not sure how I’ll feel about Max as a character, but I still want to check out the story!

elena - I think I will try to give this book a shot! I’ve been slackin’ on my contemps and although I don’t think I will LOVE this book, it does seem fun for what it was. It definitely sounds like the book has its fair share of problem and believability though. Great review, M!

Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads - Great review! I had the same thoughts about the main character in their last book, Between You & Me. By the end of the book, I found that I didn’t like her as much as I had hoped I would (basically because I yelled at the book numerous times that she needed to grow a backbone!) I’m interested to see how these writers take on a YA novel, and I’m just waiting for my copy to come in at the library.

P.S. I’m loving the fact that you and Jaime @ The Perpetual Page-Turner have reviewed the same book on the same day =) Two of my favourite bloggers too!

Mary @ My Sisters Bookshelf - I reviewed this one too! And I was kinda super harsh! Not only was Max unlikeable to me too (and my feelings followed the same progression!) but I thought it could have used some more major editing! I got lost a couple times between the awkward shifting third person perspectives, for example…

Here’s my take! http://mysistersbookshelf.com/book-review-over-you-by-emma-mclaughlin-and-nicola-kraus/ but I basically agree with everything you put… I’m just more harsh!

Also! How did she fund this? Discuss?!

April Books & Wine - You know what’s funny? Based on what you didn’t like, I think I’d really like this book.

Like, when I come within distance of an ex, I can’t handle it. I am a very confident, self assured strong lady, but holy shizzleballs, I revert to a ball of anxiety when that happens, like I go all shaky and nervous and flushed and have to leave the room or the store or the area as soon as possible. Mind you, I’ve been in my current relationship five years, so you’d think I could act the adult in those areas. Nope.

So yes, I love this review because it makes me want to READ IT NOW rather than REQUEST FROM THE LIBRARY because I can relate 😉
