Learning Moore: An Interview with Carley Moore

The funniest things can happen in the middle of New York City. Like you go to a reading and you realize you may or may not be sitting down behind the author you may or may not have just reviewed on your book blog. Here’s a short vlog to explain just how I met Carley […]

Nisha - Honor from In Honor. The strength she displayed after her brother’s death was quite inspiring.

The Sad-Sads: On Melancholia » Carley Moore » Blog Archive - […] I’m honored to be interviewed by Estelle Hallick, co-creator of the lovely and smart blog, I’d Rather Be Reading.  It’s live today and you can enter to win a free copy of The Stalker […]

The Bumble Girl - Tiger Lily – even though she doesn’t speak much and doesn’t show any emotion, she does care about how others feel and what her place is in their world. Her life and story has stayed with me, she is not a character that I will soon forget.
Great interview! I love the pink themed cover! Sounds like a fun series to follow 🙂

July 28, 2012 - 11:02 am

Hemborgwife - I really enjoyed Katsa in Graceling, from the start I enjoyed her sense of right and wrong and then her and Po were just so romantic!

July 28, 2012 - 2:39 am

Jasmine Rose - Annabeth in Percy Jackson has always stood out to me. Not only is she pretty kick-a** and can hold her own in a fight, but she’s also strong-willed and yet still questions herself. Basically, she’s a normal teenager who can kick bad guy butt ;]

July 27, 2012 - 2:41 pm

Melissa Sue - This is SO COOL!! Things like this never happy to me. Very neat that you got to meet the author and struck up a friendship with her.

I’m really looking forward to reading this book, so I hope I win!! I totally, totally used to drive by boys’ houses REAAAAAAALLLLLY slow to see if they were home.

July 26, 2012 - 1:13 am

Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl - I totally agree with Alexa on Clem from Unbreak My Heart. I loved her so much because she was amazingly real to me. So many of us go through heartbreak, and hers really spoke to me. 🙂

Thanks for the giveaway, and what an awesome interview!

July 25, 2012 - 11:56 am

Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - I have three favorite characters from YA contemporary novels right now (and don’t get me started on fantasy because there’s a LOT for that!): Leah from Such a Rush, Sam from My Life Next Door and Clem from Unbreak My Heart. These characters are SO REAL and I love that they’re not perfect.

July 25, 2012 - 11:38 am

Jess @ Gone with the Words - Such a fun interview!!

There are so many female characters that are noteworthy and standout, so it’s hard to name just one.

I think I’ll go with June, from Legend by Marie Lu. June is one of the smartest people in that world and she has military training to boot. She pretty much kicks ass. 🙂

July 25, 2012 - 5:39 am

VeganYANerds - I remember your review of this and shame on me because I still haven’t managed to get a copy and read it yet, I promise I will soon!

I rally enjoyed this interview and I’m glad that Carley has more books due out, and I really love the cover, it looks so sweet!

New York Dinner with Estelle and Alexa!

Last week was positively one of the funnest (craziest, most tiring, stimulating) weeks I have had in a while. My husband and I decided to encourage my mom to take a trip to New York during her spring break; she is a teacher. She has been saying for years that she wants to go there. […]

Top 10 Tuesday: Ten Books We're Thankful For - […] 3. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight: Ah, the book that put Jen E. Smith on my radar. This was literally the first released I marked on my calendar, and whoa, did it fulfill all expectations. What I love about Jen’s writing is how it is so well-crafted, and she continues to surprise me with surprise depth in areas I never thought would mean so much to the story. (My review.) […]
