We did it! Rather Be Reading Blog celebrates one year!! We can’t say enough thank yous to you for stopping by to read us whenever you have a free moment. So if you leave a comment, or just come by to hang out, we appreciate it and hope that you’ve enjoyed your time with us.
To celebrate, we decided to each write up a few questions & we would answer by vlog. We hope you enjoy getting to know us a little bit better as we answer questions about ourselves, blogging, and maybe a few other fun things. (Hint hint, we may say embarrassing things. Oh, and beware, these got pretty long.)
*** Just a quick note from Estelle… since I answered these off the cuff, I, of course, forgot to mention a few people. First, here’s a list of those I mentioned: Jamie from Perpetual Page Turner/Broke & Bookish, Lori from Pure Imagination, Kelly from Radiant Shadows, and Elena from Novel Sounds. Later on, I mention Ginger from GReadsBooks, Tara from Fiction Folio, Rachel from Hello Chelly, Alexa from Alexa Loves Books, Mandee from Vegan YA Nerds, Sash from Sash & Em, and seriously how could I forgot my book blogging idol, Anna from Anna Reads Books and fellow cowboy fan, Jess from Gone with the Words.
*** A note from Magan: I have no idea why my vlog is so huge. :-/ I mention Welcome, Caller, This is Chloe a lot in my vlog. Here is a link to my review. I was wrong — Estelle’s Attention, Attention for this book will be up soon. Whoops — I answered these on the fly, guys.
Thank you all for everything this past year. It’s been such a pleasure to get to know you!
Because you have listened to our videos, we can’t let you leave empty handed… kind of. WHAT A SURPRISE! We are giving away books! (The first anniversary is paper anyway… so we are in good shape.)
Oh man. It took us a long time to think up a fantastic giveaway. But we think we made it happen. This was our criteria:
- a young adult 2012 debut
- a book we loved
- a book that we haven’t given away before
So here’s the deal. We like to make giveaways as easy as possible. Leave us a comment + you are entered. We are picking two winners who get to choose 2 from our lovely pile (if you want to know more about these titles, we’ve added our reviews below):
1. Beautiful Music for Ugly Children by Kirstin Cronn-Mills
2. Lexapros and Cons by Aaron Karo
3. Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
4. Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
5. Skinny by Donna Cooner
6. Welcome, Caller, This is Chloe by Shelley Coriell
7. Intentions by Deborah Heiligman
8. Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
9. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
10. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
11. Something like Normal by Trish Doller
12. What Happens Next by Colleen Clayton
A sincere sincere thanks again to our readers, fellow bloggers, and the authors of this world for putting great, inspiring books on our bookshelves. We can’t wait to kick off the next year with you, and hope we can only continue to give you honest, and thoughtful reviews. Please don’t hesitate to send us an email or leave us a comment with suggestions or thoughts on what you might want to see more of, or even, less of.
If you’re curious, revisit our very first post, a joint review of Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler.
As always, happy reading! 🙂
