The Big Wave & A Big Break | Pub Date - Pairing Books & Beer - […] with just about meal or snack. Perfect after a long day in the sunshine. And for a book… Famous In Love is about a newbie actress who lands the next big role in a young adult book turned film […]

October 20, 2014 - 3:14 pm

Lauren at Bookmark Lit - I completely agree about going a little deeper. While I enjoyed this book, it felt like it was just a skimming of the surface. There could have been SO many more details added with her family, friends, and co-stars.

October 20, 2014 - 11:35 am

Asheley (@BookwormAsheley) - How fun! I have this book in one of my boxes of books that I haven’t unpacked onto my shelves (I’m having to switch them out as I read them until we move out of this rental!!) but I wish I would happen upon it soon! I kinda want to give it a go. I like that you’re able to visualize Shailene or Jennifer – sounds like a fun read! (:

Shelve It: In Which We Buy All the Books

Howdy, friends! We’re both checking in to confess how many books share the books we’ve purchased lately with another Shelve It. It’s been a good, good month for reading and we both, um, went a little overboard. Our wallets are feeling quite depleted, but we’re really excited about all of these and we hope you are, […]

Judith - M, I can’t wait to see what you think of Pointe. I’ve heard AMAZING things about it. I also thoroughly enjoyed Rites of Passage and On the Fence, so I hope you’ll like them.

E, whoa, amazing books! Of course, Open Road Summer is my FAVORITE. I also love the Great cake, and I can’t wait to read that.

May 3, 2014 - 1:56 am

Alexa S. - Whee, happy reading ladies! I think I got roughly the same amount of books you each did individually, so we’re good. I’d say we bought just the right amount for such an awesome week of releases!

April 30, 2014 - 10:09 pm

brittany @ The Book Addict's Guide - Hahaha M’s super incriminating purchase page! but good purchases!!! It’s okay, E, it happens to the best of us. Amazing events! So much fun. It’s hard when they’re all back-to-back but it’s also just like a whirlwind of amazing! And YAY Open Road Summer finally arrived! Yessss!

April 27, 2014 - 5:13 pm

Hannah @ So Obsessed With - Not going to lie – seeing all these beautiful books in one post has made me feel a little better about the fact that I went book buying crazy this month. SO MANY PRE-ORDERS, y’all. And then, you know, lots of unplanned purchases that I couldn’t resist… and I can’t even blame it on attending any signings.

Also, I just grabbed Pointe from the library this week per E’s rec. Hope I get to it before it’s due back!

April 24, 2014 - 12:38 pm

Ginger @ GReads! - Look at all those beautiful books! I’m jealous, Estelle, that you got to attend Jenny Han’s pub party. From the pics I saw, it looked like such a good time! Also, that comment about her sister & christmas morning.. COMPLETELY agree with that. Magan, I want updates when you read Corey’s book!

PS, Teen Book Con is this weekend, so I’m sure I’ll have a post similar to this one sometime next week with all my book purchases! Can’t wait!

April 23, 2014 - 12:20 pm

Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook - I don’t think you guys picked up too many books at all. Of course, I might not be the best person to ask that question 🙂

That’s awesome that there were so many book events last week, Estelle. Magan, I haven’t read Unremembered, but it’s definitely on my list. I got to see Jessica Brody at the Rochester Teen Book Fest last year, and she was a fun speaker.

Enjoy all your goodies and happy reading! 🙂

Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - I’m a big fan of Romeo and Juliet, so the moment I heard about this book, I HAD to have it. Luckily, I was able to get it at a signing and meet Rebecca – who is so pretty and so nice in person! I can’t wait to read it this summer 🙂

May 15, 2012 - 6:37 pm

Hannah @ So Obsessed With - “I wasn’t ready for Rosaline’s story to be over when I closed the book.” = I must read this now. Stop reading & reviewing so many awesome books! My wallet can’t take it anymore 🙂

May 15, 2012 - 12:10 pm

Jamie - OMG I NEED THIS!!! I’m definitely getting this on my Nook for the honeymoon!!

May 14, 2012 - 5:23 pm

VeganYANerds - I am so looking forward to this book and even more so after reading your review, Magan! I have a copy and I want to start it this week so I’m glad you found this a book you couldn’t put down!

May 14, 2012 - 3:53 pm

Anna - Basically I want to read this right now.

May 14, 2012 - 12:48 pm

Magan - Daisy, I definitely didn’t like Rob after Juliet arrived either. He just make a complete 180. I didn’t understand how his feelings could transition so fast, but I think mine *probably* really did in high school…just like that. :-/ Ha! It’s okay to be all exclamation-mark-ish about a book! Love your enthusiasm for it! 🙂

Katie: THANK YOU SO MUCH. That was so incredibly sweet of you to say. You’ve made my gloomy day a little brighter. 🙂 xoxo

Rowena: definitely pick it up soon. It’s a great one to lose yourself in and just see how the story unfolds. I’m a sucker just like you!

May 14, 2012 - 12:42 pm

Daisy - YES! Perfect beach/pool/backyard/balcony read!! 🙂 I SO loved this book and though I didn’t fall all that hard for Rob (GAH, what a douche! Well, after he meets Juliet), I am completely in love with Len! Seriously, that boy! *le sigh* I loved the developing friendship between him and Rose as well, it was wonderful! I feel all exclamation-mark-ish over this novel 🙂
Glad you liked it so much!!

May 14, 2012 - 11:56 am

Katie @ Blook Girl - Magan, you and Estelle write the very best reviews! Upon finishing this particular one, I immediately added When You Were Mine to my Wish List and will definitely be stopping by the bookstore this week to pick up a copy for myself.

Thanks for the heads-up on what sounds like a really fabulous read! 🙂 <3

May 14, 2012 - 11:45 am

Rowena - Fabulous review, thanks so much. I’ve been antsy for this book to release so I must pick this up. I am a total sucker for heartbreaking, best friends falling in love with each other storylines and this one sounds like such a good one.

May 2012 Young Adult Book Releases

Happy May, friends! I know we’re a few days into May now and several of these books came out already (holy batman, was May 1st a huge release date!). HOWEVER, there’s so much goodness I didn’t want to gloss over the May 2012 young adult book releases. I am so tempted to place an […]

Magan - I’m so sad you didn’t connect with When You Were Mine, ComaCalm. 🙁 I ended up enjoying it very much! And YES – so, so excited about From What I Remember!

May 9, 2012 - 6:29 am

Princess Alethea - Hooray! I’m honored to make the list! 🙂

VeganYANerds - So I was going to start saying which books I’d like to read and then I realised I would be listing almost all the books you’ve listed, ha! May is going to be SO, SO, SO GOOD! I need more hours in the day so I can read more!

May 5, 2012 - 8:26 am

Jamie - SO MANY GOOD ONES!! I’m most excited about Second Chance Summer (LOVED Amy & Roger) and In Honor(loved Moonglass)! Do we see a pattern here with me?? lol I have In Honor and I’m hoping to start that next!
