elena - I really hope you like Better Nate Than Ever! it seems like a v Estelle book. most of the Broadway references flew over my head (I bet it wouldn’t for you!) but it was a fun book and I’m excited for the sequel.

August 11, 2013 - 6:54 pm

Lena @ Addicted 2 Novels - So many good books being released in May. So many beach reads, so little time!

May 4, 2013 - 9:50 pm

Rachel - Sometimes I honestly wish I could pause all these new releases so I can catch up and be ready for them. I want to read almost every May release, excluding September Girls because I will never put myself through the torture that is that book. I’ve already read/own a lot of these, but I really can’t wait for Five Summers to come out. That totally looks like a me book.

May 4, 2013 - 5:49 pm

candy - I never really paid much attention to mentions of The Rules for Disappearing bc for a teen mom’s perspective it sounds like a book about a teen running away, which can be a scary thought for a mom.But now that I read the Description here,I want to read it.I also love this idea of the Author being from Louisiana like me.Thanks for posting about theses books.I also want to read Golden and Parallel.

May 3, 2013 - 5:07 pm

Annie - Oooh, May seems like an amazing month! I’m definitely going to grab Winger as soon as it comes out! Marked it on my calendar! 🙂

May 3, 2013 - 1:37 pm

Leticia (@osoordinary) - Reboot!Reboot!Reboot! Can’t wait to read it! Also, I won an ARC of Parallel so I’m excited to read that! It’ll be my first parallel universes book and I’m newly interested, after having just completed the Fringe TV series! = )

May 3, 2013 - 11:45 am

Alexa Y. - Oh Lord, there goes all my cash! (Just kidding.) (Not really.) Seriously, there’s a ton of good stuff on here! My favorite, without a doubt, is Golden because I loved that book so.

May 3, 2013 - 10:36 am

Brittany @ The Book Addict's Guide - Holy almost-summer, Batman is right!! My wallet is soooo suffering this month, that’s for sure. I’ve already read a few but there are sooo many more I can’t wait to read! 🙂

May 3, 2013 - 8:51 am

Bookworm1858 - So many good titles-I want to read almost all of these and the only ones I’ve picked up so far are Reboot, The Rules for Disappearing, and The Book of Broken Hearts. I can’t wait to get these other ones!

May 3, 2013 - 6:39 am

Hannah @ Matter Loved Dust - Some of these have different UK release dates so I picked up ‘Invisibility’ yesterday which I’m excited to start. Also really looking forward to ‘The Originals’ and ‘Winger’!

Hannah @ So Obsessed With - I haven’t read anything by Ockler yet, and I don’t think I’d be dying to grab this one based on the cover. But I love your excitement – and that you read it twice – so I definitely think I’ll be keeping an eye out for it at my library! I’ve been buying way too many books lately, so I can’t follow your “Buy It” instructions but I definitely want to read it now!

May 2013 Young Adult Book Releases - […] Goodreads | Amazon | Estelle’s Review Description: […]

April 24, 2013 - 9:51 pm

Rachel - I obviously trust your word when it comes to all things contemporary so I am incredibly pleased that you liked this book so much. We all know I adored Bittersweet, so I couldn’t be more excited to read this one. And it has boys. I like boys.

April 24, 2013 - 1:19 pm

Alexa Y. - Your review of this book is SO compelling and SO you in tone. I LOVE IT. I also really, really want to read this book! It sounds phenomenal, and a bit sad, and a bit happy and a bit of everything in between those two things. I love books about families, as you know, so that’s a point of interest. And of course, the romance that should not be BUT can’t be helped is also a drawing point. Can’t wait to check this out!

April 24, 2013 - 6:17 am

Lori - Oh! I loved this one so much! I was really surprised by how layered it was. It had all the elements I love. I was sad to see it end too.

April 23, 2013 - 8:51 pm

Anna - Twinsies! I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK!

April 23, 2013 - 8:38 pm

Maggie @ Young Adult Anonymous - I’m excited for this one but I have to admit, I was really disappointed with the ending of Bittersweet. I was LOVING the book and then … the letdown. I’m hoping this brings me back on board.

April 23, 2013 - 4:25 pm

Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook - This is the second really positive review I’ve come across today for this book. I have it as an egalley, but haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. I’ve never read a book by Ockler (seriously, there must be something wrong with me!) but now I’m really excited to read this one.

Thanks for the review!

April 22, 2013 - 6:52 pm

Dana - Can I be honest and say that I didn’t even read your whole review before I added this to my TBR list? Sounds like something that I would enjoy. Will favorite your post so I can read it again after I read the book for myself. 😉

April 22, 2013 - 6:03 pm

Renae @ Respiring Thoughts - I’m so glad you loved this, Estelle! After reading Bittersweet by Ockler a few weeks ago and seriously adoring it, I’m really eager to try more of her writing. It’s fantastic to hear that this is just as amazing as Bittersweet was!

April 22, 2013 - 4:14 pm

Annie - I have been anxiously waiting for this to come out so I can read it! It sounds so good, seriously! I can’t believe I still haven’t read a book by Sarah Ockler yet – she sounds exactly like what I look for in an author! So happy you liked this – sure I won’t be disappointed!

April 22, 2013 - 3:54 pm

Cynthia - oooo this sounds amazing!!! I loved Twenty Boy Summer but I haven’t read anything by Ockler since, even though I own Fixing Delilah and Bittersweet. I should really read those since I already have them, but now I want to read this one so bad!!! Ack!! Great review Estelle! =)

April 22, 2013 - 1:39 pm

Natalie - This book sounds really good! I haven’t read anything by Sarah Ockler before, but I really want to! Perhaps on my next book haul I’ll pick up something of hers. I’ve heard really great things about Twenty Boy Summer, so maybe I’ll get that one! Also, I’m excited for this book because I haven’t read one lately that has caused me to have SO MANY FEELS!!! and I think that this book will definitely do that for me 🙂

April 22, 2013 - 10:36 am

Maggie @ Just a Couple More Pages - I am actually reading Twenty Boy Summer right now, I tried to read it about a year ago and couldn’t get into it, but I am loving it now (I don’t know what was wrong with year-ago me).

Great review, I am really looking forward to reading this. Thanks!

April 22, 2013 - 10:13 am

Kelly - Had I not just read Twenty Boy Summer (and loved it), I would have passed over this book without a second glance. But seeing Sarah’s name on the cover gave me pause, and reading your review makes me want to run out and pick up a copy, like yesterday. I really don’t think I love anything more than a great family dynamic in my contemporaries, so to see that Ockler makes family and bonding and tragedy the core of this is giving my goosebumps – the good kind!

April 22, 2013 - 10:08 am

Ginger @ GReads! - I think you & Anna are trying to kill me with your reviews today, lol. Seriously though, I can NOT wait to read this one! There are so many things you described that really grab me when it comes to what I like to read. I have a feeling I’ll be relating a lot to this one.. particularly with the sick parent, and being the youngest of sisters. I am going to buy this the day it comes out!

April 22, 2013 - 10:02 am

Tara - YES YES YES this is going to be my next read!!

April 22, 2013 - 9:26 am

Bookworm1858 - Looks like another winner from Ockler-so excited to dive into this book. Hey, have you thought about a bookish manicure for this cover?

Magan: Shelve It –> January 27, 2013

Hannah @ So Obsessed With - I feel like I’ve seen several posts about Bittersweet recently, even though it’s not a new book, so I’m definitely curious about that one. And yay for being able to meet Gayle Forman! How exciting 🙂

January 28, 2013 - 5:23 pm

Sana @ artsy musings of a bibliophile - Wow, you got to meet Gayle Forman =D

This is a really good haul! Over You sounds like a great book. Enjoy.

Here’s my Book Haul post.

Sana @ artsy musings of a bibliophile

January 28, 2013 - 4:54 pm

Alexa Y. - I definitely want to meet Gayle Forman at an event for Just One Day, just so I can ask her questions about her travels and hear her talk about them. She seems like such an amazing and really cool person! (And I’ve actually heard her speak before!)

January 28, 2013 - 10:44 am

April Books & Wine - Ahhhh, I am meeting Gayle on super bowl Sunday (because, ugh timing) and I literally cannot wait and am so nervous I’ll make a flailing mess of my self.

ALSO! Yay Bittersweet! I need to buy that at some point.

January 28, 2013 - 9:09 am

Rachel - I am so jealous that you have a copy of Over You, you don’t even know. Amy Reed is my favorite author ON THE PLANET. Also, yay for meeting Gayle Forman!! I’m reading Just One Day soon and I’m so excited for it.

January 28, 2013 - 8:34 am

Ginger @ GReads! - I’m curious about Over You. You’ll have to let me know if you think I should read it. And boo on sending the computer in 🙁 Hopefully it comes back all fixed up!

January 28, 2013 - 1:08 am

Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads - Yay for Bittersweet! I read that one over the Christmas holidays, and really liked it. Sara Zarr is definitely a new favourite. And I am totally planning to read Just One Day, since you and many other wonderful bloggers, have loved it so much.

January 28, 2013 - 12:12 am

fishgirl182 - i’ve been meaning to read bittersweet for so long. it looks so cute. oooh and blaze sounds really cool. i used to want to draw comics when i was in jr high. i will def have to check that one out.

January 27, 2013 - 10:59 pm

Bookworm1858 - I’m really excited about Blaze-I was lucky enough to get a copy through Netgalley as well and can’t wait to dive in!

January 27, 2013 - 9:08 pm

Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - First of all, CINDER! I’m such a fan after finishing the book – it’s absolutely brilliant. Can’t wait to read Scarlet!

Also, I enjoyed Burn for Burn even though it was filled with a lot of things that I may not have necessarily agreed with. It was fun for me to read though!

July 30, 2012 - 9:36 pm

Sash from Sash and Em - Makes sure to have cupcakes on hand when you’re reading Bittersweet. You *will* crave them! 🙂

July 30, 2012 - 3:11 pm

Asheley (@BookwormAsheley) - I just read my first E Scott book myself, but it was Miracle. I liked it. I LOVED Cinder but it seems like forever ago that I read it. I need to reread it before Scarlet comes out. Great stuff!

July 29, 2012 - 11:06 pm

Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads - P.S. And happy anniversary! Eight years – wow! That’s longer that my husband and I have even been together!

July 29, 2012 - 11:05 pm

Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads - YAY! Glad to hear that you’re enjoying Cinder! It took me a little while to warm up to the story, but once I got sucked in, I couldn’t put it down until I was done. I LOVED Cinder’s little robot friend (whose name is escaping me at the moment).

Thanks for posting that you borrowed The Rivals — I finished reading it last week, and completely forgot to a) write a review and b) update Goodreads! Whooooooooops… hope that you like the book!

July 29, 2012 - 8:57 pm

elena - I agree about reading too many books in the same genre at the same time! I try to break it up, like I read a sci-fi then fantasy then paranormal etc. I’m so excited for Burn for Burn. I think I requested it on Netgalley then cancelled it since it took awhile to get back to me. I can’t wait to see the fun things you have coming up. I admire you & her husband for eating so healthily! I do not have the self-control for that and you definitely will get heaps of cupcakes from Bittersweet. Happy reading! 🙂

July 29, 2012 - 8:33 pm

Keertana @ Ivy Book Bindings - I loved Bittersweet and can’t wait to see what you think of Burn for Burn! Happy Reading!(:

Brittani - Awesome set of books! I absolutely loved Bittersweet! It was such a cute read! I hope you enjoy all your books! 🙂

July 29, 2012 - 6:08 pm

Anna - PS: OH YES and yay to Cinder and Bittersweet too!

July 29, 2012 - 6:08 pm

Anna - Eeee I feel like we’re actually hanging out because you talk to me directly in this blog. Whee! And, yes, I am THRILLED re: Stealing Heaven. I really hope you love it <3

July 29, 2012 - 5:41 pm

VeganYANerds - Firstly I am a bit jealous of your beachy weekend, I hope you guys are having a lovely time 🙂

Secondly, yay for library books! I’ve only read one Elizabeth Scott (Something, Maybe) but I definitely want to read more and I’ve had the Viola book on my to-read list for a while.

I thought the same thing about Bittersweet, the cupcakes hooked me but you’re not missing anything! I baked cupcakes for a picnic yesterday and the sugar hit was terrible after just ONE! So stick with your clean eating 😉

July 29, 2012 - 5:24 pm

The Bumble Girl - Hi Magan! Happy Anniversary to you and hubs! Hope you’re having a fab time 🙂
I read Keep Holding On and loved how Susane told this story – I think you’ll like it too!
I need to get Cinder! The cover is amazing and I need to see this version of it!
Enjoy your reads! I look forward to seeing what you think of them!!!

July 29, 2012 - 11:51 am

Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life - Cinder!! That one is so good. I read it waay back in December, but I’m still always ranting about how good it is! 😉 Burn For Burn sounds like such a fun read- a book about revenge? I’m totally sold. Bittersweet is such a cute read, although you definitely should have some cupcakes around when you read it, it definitely makes you super hungry! [My mouth is watering just thinking about it…] Anyways, fantastic haul Magan! <3 Enjoy your anniversary!

July 29, 2012 - 10:57 am

Tara - CINDER!!! I’m so glad you picked this one up and I am a little (or maybe a lot) jealous you have Scarlet to read right after! I want to hear ALL about it when you’re finished 🙂

July 29, 2012 - 10:36 am

kailia @ Reading the Best of the Best - I absolutely love Elizabeth Scotts books but I haven’t read this one yet! I have yet to read Cinder and I can’t wait to get Burn for Burn in my hands!

~Kailia @ Reading the Best

July 29, 2012 - 10:27 am

Ginger @ GReads! - Anna recommended Stealing Heaven to me too, & I absolutely LOVED it! I think it’s a great E Scott book to start off with. If you like that one, may I suggest The Unwritten Rule next? I really enjoyed that one as well.

I am curious about this Viola book. You’ll have to tell me how it is. That cover looks like a very Magan book 😉

Andddddd… I get to see your beautiful face on FRIDAY!! YAY!!!
