TTT: Our New Favorite Must-Read Authors

Welcome back for a new Top Ten Tuesday post! Today, the awesome ladies at The Broke and the Bookish are asking which authors were new-to-us this year. That doesn’t have to be limited to newly published authors, but it could be someone we’ve had on our radar for a long while and finally picked up their […]

Bookworm1858 - Rainbow Rowell is definitely my pick for favorite-loved getting to read three books by her this year and am hoping for more to come in 2014!

December 20, 2013 - 7:50 pm

Alexa Y. - It makes me so happy to see that I’ve actually read a lot of the authors you guys picked out this year! A particular favorite is Tamara Ireland Stone, who has written two books that I really liked. As for authors I haven’t read who are on your list, I definitely want to read OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu because I really think I’m going to like it a lot!

December 17, 2013 - 4:44 pm

Lisa Schensted - I love the variety here! I’ll have to add more to my TBR, it seems!

December 17, 2013 - 2:52 pm

Brittany @ The Book Addict's Guide - Seriously, ladies. You’re killing me. Because pretty much everything on your list that I haven’t read yet, I need to! Aw hell, I know I can always go to you for good book recs! Fantastic list, as always!

December 17, 2013 - 1:40 pm

Sara at WhatANerdGIrlSays - I definitely agree on Andrew Smith. Winger blew me away, it was my fave book of the year, tied with Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Both amazing novels 🙂 I met Elana K Arnold this year, and now I really want to read her books!

December 17, 2013 - 12:02 pm

Allison L - April gave me her ARC of Openly Straight, and I can’t wait to read it. Also, I feel like I really have to check out This Song Will Save Your Life sometime soon because I’ve heard so many good things about it.

December 17, 2013 - 11:43 am

Maggie @ Just a Couple More Pages - I have lots of the same picks on my list (or people that easily could have been on my list). I’m so happy Estelle is on the Elana K. Arnold bandwagon now. All that’s left is reading her other two books!

December 17, 2013 - 11:35 am

Anna - Love your list, ladies! I definitely need to get on the Winger bandwagon — and Nantucket Blue too!

December 17, 2013 - 10:28 am

Meg - Going to have to add a ton of these to my wishlist for 2014! I’m particularly loving the sound of Starstruck.

December 17, 2013 - 9:10 am

Ginger @ GReads! - Ohh great list, ladies! I’m not sure how I managed to do this, but I forgot Amy Spalding on mine. Oops! I’m hoping to get to Winger next year.

December 17, 2013 - 1:07 am

Lucy - We have Amy Spalding and Bill Konigsberg in common, and how could I have forgotten Leila Sales! I just picked up Time Between Us so I’m happy to see it on your list. I’m looking forward to reading How to Love too. Great lists, ladies!

December 17, 2013 - 12:51 am

Allison @ The Allure of Books - I need to drop everything and get my hands on a copy of Winger. Everyone that has read it seems absolutely devoted to it! I MUST SEE WHAT I AM MISSING.

December 17, 2013 - 12:10 am

alice-jane - I haven’t read How to Love and any of Rainbow Rowell’s novels but hopefully I do by the end of the year since they all look really good! If I can’t hopefully I’ll get to read them sometime next year. New Year’s resolution planning, right?

I’m looking forward to Jenny Han’s release next year the most.

Nailed It: Thankful for Family

With Thanksgiving Day so so close (we can’t believe it), we’ve decided to change things up once again for NAILED IT and focus on books with great family influences. Sometimes books in YA tend to go heavy on romance and friendships and forget that there are parents at home, but we have always noted to […]

"Time" is now bendy... - Tamara Ireland Stone - […] “It’s been really hard for me to stop thinking about the Time Between Us series. It was one of those unexpected reading experiences for me this year, and I can’t wait to read it again. (How many books can you say that about?). If you are on the prowl for a well-rounded story… be sure to check out these two books.” — Rather Be Reading […]

November 19, 2013 - 9:02 pm

Alexa Y. - I am LOVING the palettes, as usual ladies! These colors are NICE. And I’m so glad you liked that series E, because it’s one of my favorites. And M, I can’t wait to read Ink is Thicker than Water! Hmm, as for books with family in them, I think most Sarah Dessen books do have that aspect. But my favorite example is always Second Chance Summer 🙂

November 19, 2013 - 7:32 pm

Bookworm1858 - I agree that the pink would have seemed more summery than the addition of blue. I love that you both talked about family in your descriptions-that tends to be important to me in a book and I’m pleased that both of these are on my to-read list.

November 19, 2013 - 2:02 pm

Nicole - Love both of these palettes, but especially the first! I still need to read both of these books though! I know, I know. *bows head in shame*. Wonderful post ladies!

November 19, 2013 - 9:34 am

Meg - Love both of these color palettes, and it’s always so refreshing to find supportive parents present in YA! I’m really liking the sound of both books… off to add to my wishlist!

Estelle - Thanks M! The move went well & but the unpacking is slow going 🙂

October 23, 2012 - 3:47 pm

Tara - You both have such exciting things going on right now! And this is a bit creepy Magan, but I’m almost positive Anna has one of those canvases in her bathroom haha.

October 23, 2012 - 12:28 pm

Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - Hooray for blogger outings! E, I had so much fun with you and Elena. Our adventures at the Strand + over dinner were great, and I wish we could all hang out more. Plus, you did get some pretty darn awesome books…

M, LOVE the prints. LOVE LOVE LOVE. One of the things the truly excites me about getting married is the fact that I’ll finally get to live in a place where I can decorate any way I want to! Prints + photos will DEFINITELY be prominent.

October 23, 2012 - 11:22 am

Lena - AHHH, so jealous of Estelle’s blogger outing. Why do all my favorite people always hang out without me? *cries*

SUCH A RUSH is amazeballs, and I really enjoyed Virtuosity.

And Magan, I love your prints, especially the big one. So pretty! I really liked TIME BETWEEN US, and you must let me know what you think of DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT.

Happy Reading Ladies!

*MWAH*
