Unbreak My Heart Themed Gift-Pack

Unbreak My Heart by Melissa Walker is one of my favorite books from 2012. There’s a fantastic cast of characters and a main character who is working through some pretty major emotions post-big-blow-up with her best friend, Amanda. Her family takes the summer to sail together and along the route, Clem meets an awesome guy James. […]

ShootingStarsMag - I love this idea!! I actually have a feature on my blog called Make it a Gift where I sometimes find an item or two that would go great with a copy of the book…so having a whole gift basket with the book would be fab.

Magan - Elena, it’s so, so wonderful. There’s a lot that cannot be shared in the review (for fear of being too spoilery), but ooooh, gosh, is this book amazing. I really loved Clem’s character. She had the perfect amounts of self-loathing and humor all mixed together! 🙂 Can’t wait to read your review!

April 25, 2012 - 2:42 pm

elena - Ahhh, Magan, I LOVE this review! I was interested in this book before but now I really really want to read it. I really like that Clem was so multi-faceted and you could understand where she’s coming from. James sounds incredibly sweet, definitely the type of YA boys I like to read about. I can’t wait to read this book. Your review is so lovely! x

April 25, 2012 - 1:37 pm

Magan - Allison, it’s so, so wonderful. I don’t like cheating in books at all, but let’s just say there’s a LOT that I can’t share because it would be spoiler-y. I was hesitant to like this book, but I fell *splat* in LOVE WITH IT.

April 25, 2012 - 12:16 pm

Allison L - This book sounds really good! I’m not usually one to pick up a ‘cheating book’ but, I think I would actually really like this one. Especially from the way that you described it. Thanks for the fantastic review! 🙂

Magan - Anna, I hate cheating books, too. I think the way Melissa crafted the story really was incredible. I cannot wait to read your review!

April 25, 2012 - 11:35 am

Anna - My review of this one is coming out soon…I HATE cheating books, but sort of loved this one. I was so surprised at myself! I credit “Red” with a lot of that 😉

April 25, 2012 - 11:12 am

Magan - Katie, I really, really loved it. I’m definitely a dystopia kind of girl, too, but this book… really amazing. I couldn’t work because I kept wanting to pretend I was sick so I could go read it! My husband knew I was consumed when I didn’t want to eat dinner and couldn’t put it down! I really, really hope you love it! 🙂

April 25, 2012 - 11:03 am

Katie @ Blook Girl - What a GREAT review, as always 🙂 I saw this on NetGalley and wasn’t sure if it was my type of read, but your review convinced me. While I love my dystopian/fantasy books, sometimes it’s nice to read a contemporary novel that deals with real-life issues in a believable and heart-touching manner. It certainly seems like Melissa Walker achieved that here.

I’m off to add this to my TBR List! 🙂

April 25, 2012 - 10:56 am

Magan - DAISY! Yes! You should pick it up as soon as possible. It comes out in May (but is also on NetGalley!) so you should get it one way or the other. It’s the perfect lose-yourself-in-a-book-for-several-hours book. Especially when poolside. 😉

April 25, 2012 - 10:55 am

Magan - Haha, thanks, April! I feel like I’ve had a lot of “borrow” kind of books lately, so reading something that made me FEEL and connect and laugh was extremely refreshing. I cannot say enough good things about Unbreak My Heart! I hope you love it, too!

If you’re looking for some drama, this book has it in all the right ways. Thanks so much for your comment!

April 25, 2012 - 10:21 am

April Books & Wine - I love when you love books, Magan, because my first reaction is to immediately leap up and find that book and start reading.

AND OMG I WANT TO MEET CLEM. I WANT TO MEET ETHAN. I WANT TO MEET RED.

I want the ‘pretend’ book drama and to feel the things, that seem to be felt while reading Unbreak My Heart. And also? Most awkward sentence EVER.

Fabulous review!

April 25, 2012 - 8:06 am

Daisy - HOORAY! I’m so glad this book worked for you! Even though the weather isn’t really cooperating yet, I’m pining for a cute summer romance story and this sounds like just the thing! I don’t approve of cheating either and I’m glad Clem realises the consequences and that there’s a boy in there that sounds amazing!!
I’m reading this soon, yay! 🙂
