Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - Origin is FREAKING AWESOME. And I loved Burn for Burn too! I have a bunch of books on this list that I have yet to read, but I will soon!

Tara - I always LOVE your lists 🙂 This one has me going into a mild panic attack though because I have so many of them and I haven’t read most yet! AGHHH!!!

September 8, 2012 - 3:30 pm

Kristen Evey - WoW! SO many good books coming out this month and next. Eeek! Must finish reading the pile I already have! Most of these sound like ones I will read eventually, but I think I’m most excited about Drama & Origin right now. I’ve heard good things about both. 🙂 Thanks for the list!

September 8, 2012 - 11:07 am

Lisa - What’s Left of Me! Probably the one I’m looking forward to most. Okay fine, that and The Diviners. But honestly you probably already knew that.

Thanks for putting this list together!

August 30, 2012 - 4:32 pm

StephTheBookworm - WOW, this sounds really cool! I love the idea of the two souls. Will be getting this one from the library for sure.

P.S. this is my first time to your blog and it’s adorable. I love that two friends are running it together. 🙂 How fun!

August 30, 2012 - 10:55 am

Magan - Lisa, so glad I’m not alone in the needing Big Questions answered early on. I like to understand things & maybe that is a bit of me being a control freak & not liking to be unprepared, but HEY — it is what it is. Enjoy! Can’t wait to read your review!

August 30, 2012 - 10:53 am

Magan - BarefootMedStudent — nope, it’s different. I mean, yes, two souls are in the same body, but it’s not like in TH where they were reincarnated on different planets as different things. Different premise, but similar(ish) things with the souls in one body.

August 30, 2012 - 10:39 am

Magan - Anna! Thank you, ma’am! I just wanted this one to be a home run and it wasn’t for me. There were some things lacking & I wish I had more explanations & clear goals of what the point was. I am so looking forward to reading your review.

August 30, 2012 - 10:37 am

Magan - Alexa — looking forward to hearing what you think! 🙂

August 30, 2012 - 10:36 am

Magan - Jen! YES — zing needs to happen right away for me or else it will take me forever to read a book. My feelings have to be engaged pretty quickly and I have to get my bearings on a setting. Sadly that did take me a while with WLoM, but maybe other people won’t feel concerned with that.

August 30, 2012 - 10:35 am

Magan - April, I liked The Host a lot, too. I really, really want you to read this. It’s so weird having conflicting feelings over the book & not knowing if I’m alone in that.

August 30, 2012 - 10:34 am

Magan - KRISTEN — YES! That cover – very clever, right?! Definitely give it a shot! I hope you enjoy it!

August 30, 2012 - 10:34 am

Magan - Thanks, Mandee! I did feel very conflicted over what I thought should happen with the girls. Can’t wait to see what you think when you read it!

August 30, 2012 - 10:30 am

Magan - Lori, part of me wonders if she would have seemed so whiny/selfish if we had experienced both souls perspectives instead of just hers. Or maybe they BOTH would have come across that way. I’m not sure. Definitely give it a shot!

August 30, 2012 - 6:44 am

Lori - I’ve been curious about this book, but it’s also the type I’m a little wary of. I have very little patience for whiny and selfish characters. I’ll still give it a shot, but I’m not going to run out and get it. Fabulous review!

August 30, 2012 - 6:32 am

VeganYANerds - Great review, Magan! I’ve been wondering about this book, the two souls in one body sounds interesting and I think it would take me some time to understand it as well! I already feel for both of them, but mostly Addie

August 30, 2012 - 1:48 am

Kristen - So I just stared at the cover for a good 5 minutes. So trippy.

Going just by the summary of this one, it could go either way for me, but I’ll probably give it a shot when it comes out. Thanks for the review! 🙂

August 29, 2012 - 3:22 pm

April Books & Wine - The comparison to The Host intrigues me, because I liked The Host. I think I’d like What’s Left Of Me. Great review 🙂

August 29, 2012 - 1:15 pm

Jen - Aw man, I was really looking forward to this one, too. But I agree. There has to be that ZING! in the beginning (or at least a hint of zing) in order to keep me interested. Otherwise, I’ll just get frustrated and put that shiz down. Still, if it appears in the library, I just may have to get it and check it out. You know, if there’s nothing else to read (hahahahhaah.)

August 29, 2012 - 1:00 pm

Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books - I am SO looking forward to reading this. It’s one of the books that I’ve been eyeing for a while, and I can’t wait to see what I think of it!

August 29, 2012 - 12:43 pm

Anna - Can I just tell you how much I love your “READ IT NOW” etc. icons at the end of your posts? Disappointed to see “request from library” on this one, of course, but I’ll still give it a go! 🙂

August 29, 2012 - 11:10 am

BarefootMedStudent - The premise of the book sounds awesome, but it sounds disturbingly similar to The Host… please tell me it’s not the case?

August 29, 2012 - 9:44 am

Lisa - Here’s the truth – I am all about the massive world building and the Big Questions…but like you, I need to get pieces of it early on or it starts to drag a bit for me.

This premise sounds unique and creative and a cool blend of sci-fi and dystopian.

In short, I’m down with this.

Shelve It: May 6, 2012

How have two weeks passed by since my last vlog? SO much has happened in the last few weeks, but thankfully, life will be slowing down soon. Both Estelle and I will be going with our hubbies on vacation in June, so we’ve been discussing books and what we’ll take along with us. (Who needs […]

Magan - Liz! I hope you love In Honor and Second Chance Summer. Two beautifully written books. I loved them both so, so much! 🙂

May 9, 2012 - 10:36 am

Magan - Thanks for the heads up about Hourglass, Karen. I will definitely re-read after you said this. AND YAY FOR KALEB. I can’t wait to read from his POV!

May 9, 2012 - 10:35 am

Magan - Elena! I hope I like it too! Flirting in Italian was a huge disappointment, however. And will definitely re-read Hourglass because that’s how I felt about it too – MAKEOUTS! (!!!!). Hahah. You’re so welcome for the link! xoxo

May 9, 2012 - 10:34 am

Magan - I’m a terrible list maker when it comes to reading, Sash. TERRRIBLE. You’re so welcome for the link! Loved that post. 🙂

May 9, 2012 - 10:30 am

Magan - Margie! Hahaha to your comment about What’s Left of Me! I really hope I like it. *crosses fingers*
And yay to you adding those books to your TBR pile! 🙂 Start with Second Chance Summer since, ya know, it came out YESTERDAY!

May 9, 2012 - 10:24 am

Magan - I think the cover of What’s Left of Me is really striking, too, Aneeqah! I’m super excited to pick up that one!

May 9, 2012 - 10:22 am

Magan - Thanks, Brittani! Ahhhh! Go back to your bookstore and pick up SECOND CHANCE SUMMER! SO, SO GOOD!

May 9, 2012 - 10:22 am

Magan - Laura, most people told me to re-read Hourglass. McEntire doesn’t do a lot of re-telling.
I would definitely re-read Divergent if I were you. However! Veronica Roth did post a re-cap spoiler post to remind people of what went down in Divergent. 🙂

May 9, 2012 - 10:20 am

Magan - Thanks, Nea! So excited for Timepiece!!

May 9, 2012 - 10:19 am

Magan - Hannah, YOU WIN. You, my friend, are the best commenter. Thanks so much for this! YOU MADE MY DAY!
1. Thanks for the compliment on the hair. It was actually a terrible hair day. The fishatail saved me.
2. The lipgloss color is 24/7 by Smashbox. It’s my go-to fave.
3. Kissing scenes. Always kissing scenes. Yes, please.
4. Have you read any other Kody Keplinger? If not, DO!
5. Go back to your bookstore and buy Second Chance Summer. ASAP!
6. Thanks!!
7. HOP ON THE DIVERGENT TRAIN! And yes, Estelle just finished Divergent today. She’s a convert!
8. YES WE LOOOOOOOVE YOU! 🙂
9. ESTELLE rocked it with the Biebs and Duff last week!
10. We love, love long comments. See above. 🙂

May 9, 2012 - 10:13 am

Magan - Thanks, Mandee! WOOO! So glad you’re going to read Hourglass & Timepiece! And yes, my husband cracked up about the dog in the background. She was just doing her own thing… walking around, taking a stroll. Smelling all the same usual things. Haha. 🙂

May 7, 2012 - 4:54 pm

Paige - I’ve seen What’s Left Of Me around a lot and it sounds really good! I also really love the cover. Flirting In Italian looks so cute, I cannot wait to read that =) I hope you enjoy everything and here’s my IMM!

VeganYANerds - Lovely vlog, as usual, Magan!

I got Timepiece on Netgalley so I ordered myself a copy of Hourglass, and I’m so glad you liked it, I’ll get to it soon!

Ooh I spied one of your pups in the background <3

May 6, 2012 - 7:47 pm

Hannah @ So Obsessed With - Here were my thoughts while reading this post:
1. Dang, Magan’s hair looks good. I love that fishtail braid. My hair needs to grow faster so I can do this.
2. I like that lipgloss color. It look so good on Magan!
3. Kissing scenes. Ha! I like that she’s using that as a selling point for the book 🙂
4. Ah I like that cover (A Midsummer’s Nightmare). I want to read this book. I want to take this book on vacation with me. Ooohhh, I need to go get a hat like that one for vacation.
5. I want to read SECOND CHANCE SUMMER so bad. It’s already in a bookstore near me, and I was barely able to tear myself away from it. I just can’t buy another book right now… Why did I walk away from it? Should I go get it? Of course I should, who am I kidding?
6. Oh, I loved Anna’s confessions post, too. What a great blog post to include!
7. All this talk about Insurgent is reminding me that I STILL need to read Divergent. I know, I know. It’s on my list! I’ll get to it soon, I promise. And didn’t Magan say it was a re-read for her? I really need to read it. I wonder if Estelle has read it yet. Hmm…
8. OMG THAT’S ME! Did they really say they hardcore love me? AHH! I love them, too! And my heart is very happy 🙂 And they’re obsessed with lists. SO AM I! We need to be friends forever.
9. Oh, they had some good reviews this week with Hilary Duff & Justin Bieber references. Those made me really happy.
10. I hope they really do like lists since I just left a heck of a long one… 🙂

May 6, 2012 - 6:30 pm

nea barabea - Awww, Timepiece and Flirting in Italian!! Enjoy all your awesome books this week 😉 🙂

May 6, 2012 - 5:44 pm

Laura @ The Traveling Owl - Great haul.

I’d love to know what others say about Timepiece. That’s the next book in my TBR pile.

I’m like you when it comes to reading second books in series. I re-read the first book so I can get caught up. In fact, I haven’t started Insurgent for that very reason. To re-read Divergent and Timepiece, or not. That’s certainly the question.

Super excited for Flirting in Italian as well.

Laura @ The Traveling Owl

May 6, 2012 - 5:06 pm

Brittani - I got Timepiece a week or two ago! I’m so jealous of Flirting In Italian! I cant wait to read that book! And I actually saw Second Chance Summer on the shelves at my Barnes & Noble on Friday. Awesome set of books this week! 🙂

May 6, 2012 - 1:31 pm

Aneeqah - What’s Left of Me sounds so interesting, I can’t wait to read it! The cover is especially gorgeous. =) Second Chance Summer sounds like such a cute contemporary read, I’m excited to pick it up when it releases.

Happy reading! =)

May 6, 2012 - 12:31 pm

margie c {the bumble girl} - Hmmm, What’s Left of Me really intrigues me. Sounds like something out of a dream, a not so good dream. I think I’m going to wait to see what you think of it before I decide whether or not this is a read for me – my imagination tends to run a bit too much for stories like this, lol!
I try not to create actual TBRs for myself, I’m like you, my reads fit my mood, and sometimes that makes it difficult to review a book on time.
Flirting in Italian and A Midsummer’s Nightmare are on my list! and thanks to your FB mention, so is Second Chance Summer 🙂
Love your vlogs, thanks for sharing!!!

May 6, 2012 - 10:56 am

Sash from Sash and Em - You make TBRs like I do 🙂 I don’t plan them out because when I do, I end up changing it anyway.

Also, I’m reading Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour and loving it so I will have to pick up Second Chance Summer this week. 🙂

ps – thanks for the linky to our Insurgent review!

May 6, 2012 - 10:40 am

elena - AHHHHH YOU GOT WHAT’S LEFT OF ME?! I am flaily hands for that book, it sounds so good! Also, I have been meaning to write a gushy email to Kat Zhang because she’s 21, wowza. September is too far away! I can’t wait to hear what you think about it.

Those bookplates are so cute! I started reading Timepiece but I don’t think I got past the first chapter yet since I don’t remember what happened in Hourglass. I asked my co-blogger what she remembers from Hourglass and she said MAKEOUTS! and a Doctor Who reference. So I would probably recommend rereading Hourglass beforehand.

I really hope Flirting in Italian is in the same vein Stephanie Perkins writes couples too. I think that’s really her strong point. Second Chance Summer sounds wonderful, I will try to check my B&N soon.

Thank you for linking us. <3

May 6, 2012 - 10:05 am

Karen - Wow! I love that cover for What’s Left of Me.

I agree with you about Hourglass. I don’t usually like time travel stories but this one really works.

I would recommend re-reading Hourglass before Timepiece. It had been a year since I read it and I was slightly confused because Myra doesn’t really recap plus it’s from a different POV. Myra has recaps on her website if you would rather do that. I loved the book though.

P.S. If you like kissing…..Timepiece…..Kaleb…..um yeah ….good kissing there.

May 6, 2012 - 10:04 am

Liz - I am crazy excited for Second Chance Summer, I have it on pre-order with Jessi Kirby’s In Honor and I have seriously counting down the days until May 8th for months now. So glad to hear people say that it is amazing.

What’s Left of Me sounds really interesting… totally different from what I normally read but it is now on my to-read list. I’ll be interested to know what you think about it.
