YA for NJ: Good Books For A Good Cause

YA for NJ

Even though I live in New York and I’m darn proud of it, I’m equally proud and protective of New Jersey, where I grew up.

Home to disco fries (gravy and mozzarella cheese on fries!) , Bon Jovi, and the shore. (For the YA junkies, Jessica Darling!)

Unfortunately, the state that I love was horribly affected by the recent hurricane Sandy. I actually mentioned it in a Shelve It and wrote about my beach home away from home a few weeks ago, but I’m thrilled to share with you another way YOU can help. Especially major book lovers like yourselves. Kieran Scott (author of She’s So Dead to Us series) has organized an auction called YA for NJ with the cooperation and generosity of other writers that begins tomorrow, November 30. You will have the opportunity to bid on signed books and other fun literary moments. All funds will be donated to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

Think Tara Altebrando, Carley Moore, Megan McCafferty, Gayle Forman, and about 170 other middle grade and YA authors.

How about these too: SARAH DESSEN, JENNY HAN, E. LOCKHART!!!!

See? So exciting!

The event will be held on eBay. Be sure to follow the group on Facebook and Twitter for up to the minute details!

I hope you’ll check it out. Just think… donating to a good cause and finding holiday gifts at the same time! Score!

Big thanks to Kieran Scott and all of the authors who are contributing their efforts to YA for NJ!
