Shelve It: Obsessed With the Library

HAPPY SUNDAY! Did you guys have the best weekend? I sure hope so. I’m writing this early so I’m trying to predict the future. I am going to have fun catching up with Maggie on Saturday afternoon. I will read two of my library books and one of my actual review copies. I’ll be sure […]

Shelve It: The Attack of the Pear, Estelle - […] books, and I’m so glad my hair looked decent enough to make this Shelve It video — it has been awhile! I have lots of fun books to share, and also a story about the latest library book I took out. […]

Tell Me Again How a Crush Should Feel by Sara Farizan - […] and never get to because after all this time, I still have not read her debut. (Don’t worry; I have it out from the library right now.) So Tell Me Again How a Crush Should Feel was my first taste of her work and I totally get what […]

Alexa S. - YOU LOOK SO CUTE! I really love the haircut, and I really like your dress too! Also, I really loved Rites of Passage! I hope you enjoy it as much as Magan, Rachel and I all did (and I’ll be curious to hear what you think when you’re done). Also, I just read and loved Rain Reign! Rose Howard is a great heroine 🙂 AND, finally, I’m still sad about missing that event (though obviously hanging out with husband at DISNEY was the best excuse ever!) because it sounded so darn fab. Glad you had a good time!

Jess @ Gone with the Words - First, your hair DOES look totally cute! And alone would be my main requirement if I ever decided to do videos. I also LOVED How To Tell Toledo From The Night Sky so I hope you like it! And I really want to read a Kieran Scott book soon because you love her. 🙂

October 6, 2014 - 11:30 am

Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook - Your hair and your outfit do look cute! And yay for library love. But those covers do make it difficult to show them in a video. The lights glare off them.

I really thought Bright Before Sunrise was adorable. I really liked it. I hope you do too, and all your other books.

Happy reading, Estelle.

Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads - so worth the wait — you’re adorable, as always! I’m waiting for my library to get Rites of Passage, because I keep hearing good things :). I just started the Throne of Glass series this week, and am LOVINGLY it so far!

Liz - I love your my hair looks cute and I’m wearing a dress logic for vlogging–I feel the same way! I also have How To Tell Toledo From The Night Sky out from the library–I’m reading it now and it’s a little bizarre but good! Bright Before Sunrise didn’t really work for me but a lot of other people have loved it, so I hope you feel the same way. Happy reading!

Jessica - Oh my gosh, I’m so jealous you got Wildlife! It’s still on order from my local library at school, but I already have it reserved for when it does finally come in. I went home over the weekend and it was actually in at my library there, but it would have been due way before I went home again in November, so I couldn’t take it. Ugh, I just want to read it! Haha, I hope you enjoy it!! I’ve heard Rites of Passage is fantastic and actually won a copy that should be on its way to me, so I can’t wait to read that one too! I hope you enjoy all you got 🙂

Brianna - I’m reading The Curse of Van Gogh by Paul Hoppe for my fun book. Everything else is for school, and while not boring for me, would be dullsville for everyone else.

October 5, 2014 - 10:59 am

Missie - All of your new ones are new to me! Excited for your reviews!

Leah - VERY cute hair! SUUUUPER cute dress! hee, I’m glad you mentioned it – I was actually going to comment on it and ask if it was a shirt or a dress. ♥ I’m crazy about florals right now.

I really enjoyed Bright Before Sunrise! It was my first One Day novel (is that the right term?? idk). I wasn’t too sure how I’d enjoy a story told in 24 hours – especially when there’s a romance involved – but it was good!

Fingers crossed for Wildlife, it’s one that had been on my To Read list for a while & YES for all the LGBT novels coming out! Really looking forward to your thoughts on it.

HOW TO TELL TOLEDO FROM THE NIGHT SKY YAY.

Shelve It: Saturday & Summer

Oh man. It’s been about a month since I did one of these. But hello! I’m here. How are you all doing? It’s been a busy few weeks so far — friends visiting, lots of work changes, James finally got a small break from school, the weather is nice — you know the drill. Basically […]

Leah - YAY, My Best Friend, Maybe!! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but ended up reading it an entire sitting. So wonderful!

I’m curious about Searching for Sky. I bought Margot (Adult historical focusing on Anne Frank’s sister!!) that I’m itching to read. 🙂 I’m looking forward to seeing what her YA is like!

June 24, 2014 - 9:59 am

Danielle @ Love at First Page - BOOMERANG! I’m soooo beyond excited for that book it’s ridiculous. I hope you love it! That’s a really great haul you got there – can’t wait to see what you think of all those. 🙂

June 23, 2014 - 12:54 pm

Lucy - You have some awesome book friends! I love verse novels so just added Kiss of Broken Glass to my TBR. Happy summer reading 🙂

Alexa S. - What a fun book haul post! There are a ton of great titles in here, so YAY YOU. Also, in terms of a book haul, if we were to look at the books I’ve ordered recently, I’m fairly certain I can credit you for at least 1/2 of them. Just saying 😉

June 21, 2014 - 6:18 pm

Jen @Fefferbooks - Cracked Up to Be looks super cute! You know…from the cover. 🙂 But we all love covers, yes?

June 21, 2014 - 1:27 pm

Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook - Definitely yay for the first day of summer. We’ve been having GORGEOUS weather the last few days in Syracuse, and it makes me so happy. I own a copy of Catching Jordan and I STILL haven’t read it. It’s terrible. Behind the Scenes looks super cute. I so want to read that one too.

Enjoy your goodies, and the nice weather. Also, I’m totally awful and still haven’t mailed out Grasshopper Jungle to you yet. I promise to mail it out very soon.

Amy @ Tripping Over Books - I’m envious of your willpower to “not buy things”! I have none, although I’ve been better about it, too, come to think of it.
All of these sound wonderful! I’m really curious about Say What You Will. I was drawn to it at first because, superficially, one of the main characters shares my name. But the story itself sounds very emotional and intense. I can’t recall ever hearing about a book featuring two main characters who suffer from disabilities (although I’m sure I just missed some), and certainly never cerebral palsy.
Also, I read Just One Night, and it was lovely. I know a lot of people liked the way Just One Year ended, and I was impressed with the structure for sure, but my heart wanted just a teensy bit more. This was perfect for that part of me.
Good luck with Beauty Queens! I haven’t had the best luck with Libba Bray’s books, alas. This one included. But I hope you get through it on your second go around!
