Estelle here! I’m sitting next to my husband and my Christmas tree, listening to carols! Life does not get any better than this. Really.Hope you all had a glorious week! The holidays have been keeping Magan and I super busy but it hasn’t stopped us from reading up a storm (or taking too many books out of the library!).
I’m also pretty jealous because Magan got to see my second husband this week. I mean OUR second husband.
Yep! Magan saw New Year’s Eve on Wednesday night, and gave it some pretty high marks. As someone who didn’t love Valentine’s Day (which also stars everyone in the world too!), that’s a pretty good recommendation to me! (Plus there’s a preview of Zac’s new luscious movie, The Lucky One [based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel].)
In my world, I’ve been a little Christmas elf. We had our annual Secret Santa at work, and Magan inspired me to me a wreath. I was going to make the same one she did, but Michaels didn’t have any of the supplies I needed. Instead, I came up with:
I’m happy to report, my Secret Santa was quite satisfied! Here’s the design I began with, in case you are interested.
Now on to the books! I feel like my bookshelves are just about overflowing after this week! First I received by Secret Santa gift from Jessica of The Firefly Book Loft. She did a great job!
One of my favorite reads from this year: The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place and another I haven’t read in a LONG time, Little House in the Big Woods. Thank you Jessica & thanks to Jamie for organizing such a fun “event”!
Magan, my brilliant, ultra-fabulous partner also sent me my Christmas present! She just spoils me.
A book highly recommended by Anna Reads: My Life Undecided, one of the gems Magan read this year: Jellicoe Road, and an AUTOGRAPHED copy of Anna and the French Kiss. Plus, she pre-ordered me The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. Ah! Magan, I love you. Seriously!
The founder of one of my favorite blogs, A Practical Wedding, has written her first book and it landed in my hand this week! I definitely encourage any brides (or newlyweds like me) to consider adding it to their bookshelves.
And then I went to the library today!
…I’m going to be a little busy. I also have about 12 other books from the library. Eek! Thankfully, renewing exists!
In blog news, we have our first theme week coming up. We guarantee it will be… sexy. Can anyone guess?
And last but not least (because this entry is getting WAY long), here’s what happened around the blog this week:
- Clarity by Kim Harrington
- Top 10 Tuesdays: Merry Christmas, Happy Bookadays
- Estelle: Bloom by Elizabeth Scott
- Guest Post: Out for Blood [Hunger Games Review]
- Magan: Birthmarked by Caragh M. O’Brien
Thanks to everyone who commented and tweeted with us this week too. We’re having so much fun chatting and getting to know you!
Until next time…
